ogre
Do you realy need knee/shin pads i mean, i understand a helmet would have it's uses when you decide to mix concrete and gravity, but are the shin knee pads worth the extra 30quid? JT!
Helmets a must, one smack to the head and you could be dead. Shin pads however are just there to protect bone, i've never 'shinned' myslef in 2 years of riding, so i don't see the point. And even if i do shin myself, theres no serious damage. fredrico
Ive had a nasty rake down my leg and i kept wanting to get shinguards but never got round to it. If i was to get some i would get either sixsixone or dainese.
FLATOUTSTYLE
I feel restricted if I wear anything like that, just dont like them....Even a helmet I dont often wear one of them either.... Suppose I should, depends how Im riding. If I aint id for a while a dont bother as I aint gona hurt myself because I aint gona push, but as I get back into it I feel I have to wear a lid as the danger increases

And die. Can happen, and probably has happend.

BUT I do think it looks way better wearing it especially on vids. Looks more professional..If I go out for 20 mins on the bike, usually I dont wear it, but if the cams out I do.. Strange I know. My dad always says wear it unless you will end up in a wheelchair/brain damaged or whatever, cant do trials in a wheelchair. Maybe I will just wear it all the time...... :turned: Edited October 16, 2005 by FLATOUTSTYLE

Nicly said jonny! my mate fell off on a wall not even 1 foot high, cause his brake slipped when on the back wheel on it, he slipped backwards and smashed the back of his head on the corner of the wall, knocking him out and blood was everywhere (about 1 meter around him) doctor said, because he was wearing a helmet, hes cheated death, if he wasnt wearing one, he would be dead on colision! Mc Lovin
I'v got Lizardskins and they are great, There made out of wetsuit material so they are really comfy and flexable, but they do get so soggy. :turned:
orangezero
Personally myself i think there just a waste of money. I've wacked my shins plenty of time and my mum was like (you need shin pad or you are goning to tear your shins to pieces) but in the end you get used to it. So i would stay without. Trials Dave
i used to wear them but they are annoying and get itchy when you sweat. i feel they restrict movement a bit aswell. if you hit your shins and knees all the time though i would say they are worth the money
