mash65
I've been putting together my new bike for about the past 2 months (:ermm:), and I'm still unsure what stem to get. On my old bike I had a 90mm 30 degree stem, that was an Azonic DS-1, long chainstays, ~130 wheelbase. New bike is an Ashton ET24, so I automatically lose 1" from the front end due to the wheel size, but I think it has a slightly taller head tube. It also has much shorter chainstays and a longer top tube, and I'm 5'6" tall... I ride more streety stuff and want to be able to manual and all that. I was thinking about the Kore Lite 3 105mm 17 degree stem, and Easton EA70 1.5" rise bars. Would that be enough rise?
CurtisRider
sounds pretty much spot on, personally id go for a 2.5inch rise (but im far taller and also like a high front-i do the same sorta riding as you), and remember that u will need alot of stem stackers, most 24 rider seem to have a good inch of stackers, so try and keep you steerer as long as possibe and have a play with the stem height :ermm: another thing, if you buying new bars, get 31.8, easton ea70s come in ovesize, but i dont think the kore does, if it doesnt, the titiec rip 3d is an excellent choice and comes in a similar length to what you require :- and they are really cheap for the quality and weight... :P

mash65
I've noticed that alot of the 24" bikes have lots of spacers... I think I'll go with 2" on the bars then. Cheers :ermm:
cp101
While on the topic, I'm getting a Zebdi Mk5 frame soon, and I need a new stem ( and headset, but, I know what I'll get ), I'm about 6'1", when length stem should I be looking at?
