Transfering Components To A New Frame?

Has anyone seen my shoe?

headest cups.....Hmmer and screwdriver :ermm:

If it an expenive headset might be worth borrowing a proper tool, less stress on the cups/headtube and makes it a bit quicker.

Also go careful when reinstlling into new frame, a headset press is the best option, then vice is next best (with bits of wood so as not to damage things) and then sketchiest is hammer and wood.

bottom bracket.....bottom bracket tool :-

Make sure you get a good quality tool, i recomend the Race Face ISIS one form CRC, depsite description it is actually shimano pattern, but has much longer teeth and grips well, as well as having lots of options of how ot drive it, sockets, bars, spanner, 8mm allen key ect.

you may need an extra person to steady the frame while you strain using an oldpair of forks for extra leverage, stuck bb's can be a bitch to get out. To remove turn clockwise on right hand side, and anti clockwise on left hand side of frame.

When istalling a BB use plenty of lithium grease on the threads and snug it up good, but dont go mental.

Also you will need a crank remover suitable for whatever type of cranks you have to get cranks off, other wise there very hard ot get off.

i'm not great with headsets but i'd deffinatly say no.

you got an internal zero stack headset there, where as i THINK you're going to need a standard 1/18 headset for the new frame. There's also anotehr kind that my brother has on his t-master but i can't remember the name of that one.

if you tell us what frame it is someone will know for sure what you need.

hmm, well again, from the best of my knowledge i think montys all use Aheadsets, which i always thought was a kinda cross between an internal headset and a standard one.

You'll deffinatly need a new one, but don't buy one yet until someone else has confirmed the sort you need. :ermm:

Indeed . Any 1 & 1 Eighth A- Head headset will work . Congratulations on your new frame . Incidentally MNT -Oli's reply is extremely well written and helpful , showing that some validations were well chosen , and will make real contributions to this forum .

measure the length of the new headtube and then add about 31mm, measure your bike at the moment from the bottom of the crown race of the headset to the top of the spacer you have at the moment under your stem

if the first measurement is bigger than the second then prob won't fit
