Building Front Disc Wheels...

Hey,

Built my back wheel fine, can I build a front disc hub up in the same way? Bearing in mind I'll be using a disc, so would that affect how I did it?

3x each side, just so's you know...

When i built mine tart told me to do 2x disc side and 3x non disc side :ermm: .

just built the wheel 3 cross like you would normally do but try and build the wheel quite tight and make sure the wheel is dished correctly (centered) and you'll be fine, once its built just make sure you keep an eye on the spoke tension to make sure they stay tight

3x disk side, radial non disk :ermm:

That's pretty pointless though. Just go with what Tart says to be honest, if for some reason he says 2x disc side is better, I'd be inclined to believe him. No one on here has built more wheels. But I just did 3x both sides, it's fine. To be honest you'd have to do a pretty crap job to make a front wheel that didn't stay straight.

surely it wud be 3x disc side and 2x on the other? cos the forces of the disc would create alot of wheel movement

ive always built my front wheels with 3x either side, and put a weee bit more tension on the disc side due to the forces of the braking, seems to of worked for me :)

Yer it is sorry just posted that off the top of my head :P.

Take water, pour on brake, ride as normal, repeat until it works well, learn to modulate it, when I got my hope mono trial I was making my front wheel skid braking, but now I stoppie to a halt. :P

Yeah, just spoke to some peeps about it, so I'm gonna go up The Hill with a bottle of water and sort her out once and for all :)
