Good Hub And Rim

if its for a stock bike, and your willing to spend a reasonable amount of money i suggest you use a hope mono hub. when i started to ride i used loads of hubs and broke them all (mainly cheap shimano ones). hope are really reliable hubs, they are sealed aswell so you dont have to worry about your cones constantly comming loose! engagement is pretty good too!

Rim wise i think mavic d521's are brilliant, lightweight, strong, double walled and hold a grind really well. but they are quite narrow as rims go now. i'm using a onza ronnie rim currently and have been for about 2months and i cant fault it. hope that helps matey (no pun intended)

i would say hope mono on a echo rim.. cant get alot better than that... :D (apart from a king)

Yeah I have had two hopes both of which had to be repaired about five times each! I really have gone off hopes, they didnt impress me much at all.

I now run a king anyway and its amazing, got it cheap off ebay and its worth every penny. (N) Amazing engagement, lightweight, strong and looks good all at the same time. (Y)

Think your hope hub was the hope xc

If your worryed about the hub or money, hope are the absolute best for customer care, (-specilised) and if you contact them via e-mail or phone send of hub or complete wheel and bang then they will replace the internals and fix it next to as good as new
