Trials Dave
ok. my rear magura is being annoying at the moment. when i pull the brake lever and then let go one of the pads doesnt want to return. i can push it back by hand but its annoying and makes an awfull sound when i am riding along. i have loosened tpa right off and i dont use tar etc. what else can i do to make the pad return? cheers guys Edited October 12, 2005 by Trials Dave

Trials Dave
yeah mine are done with water now. i think i'll bleed them properly with the magura oil this time. i cant see why it just doesnt want to return though.
wayneone
sounds like a sticky piston. It might not work but id take it off the bike, Then take the pad out and squeeze the lever now clean the exposed part and then re-lube it use some thin oil. Yeah, try that, but watch out, you can get the oil on your pads when you put them back in, so maybe use some WD40 to lube it?
Trials Dave
yeah sounds good. ive tried using brake cleaner on it so that it wouldnt matter if i got it on my pads but it evaporates real quick. i'll try some wd40 or oil. cheers
lankyri
mine does that sometimes if i pull very hard and sharp, if it does it do it again and the pad clips back in and you could bleed them again yeah mine needs 1 hope this helps ric
JT!
Undo the tpa right off so that the backings on the pads are both resting against the calipers. Then undo your brake clamps and set them up closer to the rim, the more ajustmant you have on your tpa the worse the lazy piston is.

mad dan
When my pads dont return all i do is undo the little alenkey bolt (which you bleed it thought) and then push the pads back until they dont go back no more, a little fulid should come out, but it always works for me. P.s. ownly undo the bolt a bit, about 1 to 2 turns.
