Krisboats
right i just got my new rear wheel built up by adam at tartybikes and it is truly awesome. It was sent off to hope to have a new ratchet put in and it came back with new everythings in the same hub shell. i havn't ridden trials on it yet as i know you have o bed them in first... my question is how long should i spend bedding it in before i start riding on it properly? AdamR28
Should be alright... if it skips, whip it apart and remove a bit of the grease :P (but not all of it!)
Krisboats
cheers adam, it seems mega quiet at the minute, it hardly clicks at all.... they ended up putting a new axle with new bearings, a new freehub body and a new non drive side end cap. i didn't look inside because i didn't wanna take it apart and put it back in dodgy . Cheers for the build as well, it seems loads stronger than my old wheel... which used to flex quite a bit. Do u have any tips for putting on an awesome grind? seeing as you weren't able to put one onm for me. :P i also need to chat with u about the payment as well... it seems like u guys havn't charged me for it. :-
Waynio
i have always just built my wheels up then put my cassette on and with a chain whip "tightened" the ratchet ring that is inside the hub this then stops the hub actually stripping inside. where the ratchet screws into the hub itself. as for bedding in you dont need to bed anything in really just go out and ride it. if you dont tighten the ratchet ring in then go easy on it dont start trying massive static stuff that is going to put the hub under large amounts of force. iv had 2 hubs from hope all year and there both still in immaculate condition and havent slipped on me "BADLY" at all, when mine has slipped it has been more stationary and not on big gaps or drops etc etc. Waynio.....................
