dave33
ok i run an rb at the mo and have for years, but it leaks very slowly so has to be bleed every now and then but id rather use a standard lever as they tend not to leak so how many use rb and how many used standard lever? cheers dave (Y)
downhill_rob2@hotmail.com
I used a 05 maggy lever... feel is sooooooooo nice!!! lol I wish they make a RB design type lever for a 05 lever blade....
Ali C
I have a 2004 maggie lever with cnc blade. I wanna get a fresh blade as and when they come out (Y) I have tried the 05 levers and I think they are the most horrid feeling things ever. I thought that at first, but i love them now! i hate the feel of the 04's now! Might see if edd will design a fresh lever for the 05 lever blade (Y)

(Y) I'm running an RB lever blade (orange), filed down to fit a Magura '04 lever body. T'is the best setup imo, the lever blade gives a much more comfy feel, and slightly more leverage due to the length, whilst the standard body prevents leakage! :P Mike. I'm running a RB lever blade in my '04 body like Fatmike, running on water. Works amazing, so much more comfortable, and feels like it gives more power :P Adam

Luke Drewery
I run a standard 04 maggy body with an old skool lever blade (the square one) as I prefer the feel to the silver round ones. I quite like the 05 maggy levers but I am going to wait and buy a fresh products lever blade, and hopefully a chain tensioner too. RyanRs
Rb lever for me (Y) used to have nothing but trouble with mine, leaked worse than a woman on a heavy period with no tampon. But one day whilst poking through my mates shed, i found some sills, that wer the same as the std RB ones, just 3/4 the thickness. so i cramed 4 of them in there :P job done, no leaks, lever blade returnes back properly with no delay. been using it like this for 7 months now :- bled with water . shovel
i'm still using all the original levers and blade etc from my 99' maguras, they've got more of a squarer profile to them than the newer cnc lever blades but i find them really comfy and good to use
Heatsink
I was wondering if I could get a more comfy lever for my 2005 Maggie. The RB shape is much loved because of the nice one finger pocket it has, and also they've done a great job slimming down the weight whilst making it look cool too. I really like the look of the RBesque Fresh Lever for Pre-2005 maggies - Nice job Aaron! I've been experimenting with a few machining schemes for the 2005 Maggie, but it's pricy! I admit that the lever shape shown below at the moment is too much like a banana because is was a quick CAD model to get an idea. If there's interest and I have more time, then this could see the light of day (Y)
Todge
I sure agree with Steve wheen he says it pricy (Y) Im looking into machining mine in a different way to CNC, just because the price is ridiculous.

They are looking very good there, release those with a metal 05 TPA (to replace the plastic one) and you would definately be onto a winner! Would casting be an option? The second one looks like it could be cast reasonably easily... Edited October 10, 2005 by andyroo
The Dude
I sure agree with Steve wheen he says it pricy (Y) Im looking into machining mine in a different way to CNC, just because the price is ridiculous. lazercutting? but theyd need to be thin and light, not sure if it makes a good lever. at the moment ive got a rediculously old RB lever, that still isnt working, even after todges best efforts. might just rebleed it, or get a new lever. no idea why or wehre its leaking from, but alas, it is. on that note, any one got a RH 04 lever for sale? Heatsink
On the casting, The RB lever has indeed been cast and machined after in places. It would indeed be very costly to machine it completely from billet to produce the rather impressive form with so much material removed. The RB weighs 21g compared to the 05 lever at 27g, plus the RB looks much better! I've noticed that those Bonz levers would be the cheapest to have machined, but aren't as cool looking or optimised for weight/stiffness and ergonomics as the RB and Fresh lever. If a jobs worth doing.... It's one of those things that if the volumes are large enough then the casting route would become cheap enough as the cost of the tools etc was spread across the quantity of levers made. But you need to stump up many thousands of pounds (in the UK anyway) to get the tools made and running. I'll keep tweaking the CAD for the levers and we'll see if, like it sounds like Aaron is trying, I can find a decent price without having to compromise on the design of the lever. As you would imagine, the more expensive lever of the two CAD ones is the better looking version! The one with the slots running in the the same direction that you pull the lever. Steve Make it happen! They are looking very good there, release those with a metal 05 TPA (to replace the plastic one) and you would definately be onto a winner! Would casting be an option? No, no no Si :P Waterjet cut. Then machined, on a manual milling machine with a few jigs. When i looked into casting, its basically not an option, for the price to set it all up. The design of mine are pretty much sorted and have been for a while, its just Im very reluctant in spending large amounts of money on production. Anyway, a few pics here of the last prototype.
