Madrider143
The other day my coustellier was stolen form my shed. Which i was tres pissed off about. Luckily i have independant insurance just for it. This means i can get a new bike, or money to the value of it. The insurance company have asked me to list the spec of the bike and send it to bike companies so they can quote for the price of a new one. The insurance will then match this price so i can rebuy and rebuild. The problem is that no one seems to be able to do it for me, since the parts all came from different shops. Can anyone help me out??? Cheers danny
AdamR28
You'll need to provide the insurance company with all the receipts from when you bought the parts.
Madrider143
You'll need to provide the insurance company with all the receipts from when you bought the parts. They don't want the reciepts, just a qoute?
nafan
Go to the shops (or email if they were online) and ask for written proof that you bought the part from them and how much if necessary That should do it - Good luck getting the money mate :P :P
Tomm
Go to the shops (or email if they were online) and ask for written proof that you bought the part from them and how much if necessary Nah that won't work, hardly any companies keep records of stuff they've sold (or, if they do, they never seem to want to give them out). As you say, the best bet is to get a quote from a shop as you were asked (Y) Maybe ask Tarty if he'll do it for you, provided that you buy the new bike from him or something. Altho the insurance company have the proof, else they wunt be paying out, right? Cheers

PaRtZ
1. Write down your spec of your bike 2. Browse the internet for the items I understand what Tart is saying, he doesn't want to be involved in insurance fraud (not that you would like) but its a possibility. Id just respect his wishes and use other shops (Y) Sorry thats all I can think of. Try screenshots of the websites with appropriate shopping baskets? :-
shovel
just write up a list of all the parts that were on the bike and then browse through the internet to get the corrasponding retail prices for them, do you not have any pictures of the bike from before it was stolen so they can see that the parts were actually on it? or if a local bike shop did a lot of work on the bike you could get them to confirm that the bike did actually have the parts listed on it

Tomm
IM not sure if the company are giving me the money for the new bike, or sorting the new bike out for me. I'm pretty sure it's up to you. They will want to sort it out for you as they will usually be able to source parts cheaper than RRP. But maybe not for trials stuff. Anyway, I think you are allowed to demand the money for whatever reason - Eg if they're not being quick enough.
