Brian Bleech
Hello I have been looking at your eliminator rim for use on the rear of a trials bike and I have been thinking about getting one, but I have my doubts. I have watched the video and although it looks impressive, trials riders put a whole world of different strains on a rim. I think using the lower pressures that trials guys use and landing at angles on walls and such, the middle ‘lump’ would often get dented, which would cause problems as the tube wouldn’t be able to fold around it correctly anymore. Also as we often land at random angles, this could lead to the sidewall getting pushed in, which could lead to brake problems and possible trouble removing the tire. Is the rim disc only? And how much does the 24” version weigh? Thanks Mike Doing trials with the Eliminator will not damage the bumper, it is designed for high impact, our testers in fact use XC tires and Tubes on the DH. The Eliminator has a braking surface, your not forced to go with disc. The 24" weighs 1000 grams. Dave Pullen he seems adamant that they would survive, but at 1000g for the 24" version... nah! Mark W
It would still feel like shit though, 'cos you'd rim out far quicker unless you ran your tyres at about 1,000,000psi? 'cos it's still sticking out significantly past the sidewalls of the rim, so you *would* hit it straight away.

And when you dent it, it loses the strength that it has by being a nice round tube.
