Lawnmowerman
Get a creative nomad jukebox zen extra! I got one the other day from ebuyer for £160. 40GB and will store anything
Tomm
I would rather have the 4Gb nano I reckon. Much smaller, you can just put it in your pocket and go. I had a big 30gb MP3 player but I never used it really. IMHO normal iPods are a bit big for just everyday carrying around. Then again I don't have very big pockets. Tomm
you cant put music from an ipod to itunes so say if you reformat your comp or loose all your songs you cant put them back on the comp Actually, you can. Not using iTunes, but you can get other software to get music off the iPod and on to your computer.
SamHolmes
The nano does look really nice and wont be too much of a pain in my pocket as its so small... 2 gb would be fine for me anyway  Anyone know what the battery life is like? And is the cheapst place to get it from the apple website/ Cheers Sam :(

Urban mammoth
i did have a mini and that was fantastic. however i have just sold mine and bought a nano from ebay. ipods are brilliant pieces of kit, they can store all your music in your pocket and then also put your work on to go to school/college/uni. You can transfer music from the ipod to your computer with iPodrip which you can download for free for PC OR MAC from thelittleappfactory.com or something along those lines, just google it and it will come up. as with any consumer product (cars, computers, lights, TVs etc etc etc), there will be a tiny tiny percentage of faulty products, but if you are unlucky enough to get one then apple are super helpful as long as you are within your warranty time etc etc. pros of nano: TINY TINY TINY size, colour screen, click wheel, solid state memory (will not skip AT ALL, because no moving parts), performs seamlessly with PC OR MAC, did i mention the TINY TINY TINY size? it is quite expensize for the amount of storage, but then again this is the most fashionable/modern/cool/up-to-date/smallest/colour screened music carrier of the world! anyway cheers dan

James_Porter
i just took my ipod photo back to currys and they gave me this 20gig sony thing instead, quite a bit smaller than the ipod and it looks like you can change the battery if it buggers up. also you can easily swap music from the mp3 player to the computer and vis visa. they were £200 by the way. Tomm
Anyone know what the battery life is like? And is the cheapst place to get it from the apple website/They say 14 hours, not sure how true that is. But certainly longer than the mini/photo ipods. And yeah, the apple store is pretty cheap with educational discount, but be prepared for 2 weeks+ shipping time ( (Y) ). To be honest, I would probably just get it from a cheap online shop, at least you'll get it in a couple of days max.

Lewis Poyntontrials.com
The word on the street is the IPod Nano screen gets scratched easily when put in your pocket with keys etc. dispite being advertised as being for pocket carrying. Ipod says its screen is made from a super strong material but have heard lots of reports of its getting damaged easily. Not had any personal experience myself, the fact the batteries are not replaceable puts me off getting any IPod.

Ok. apart from you deffo shouldnt buy the apple ..... not one of you with advice mentioned how it sounded !!!!!! pretty big deal dont you think ? you dont need fancy colour screens or silly software with buttons for morons...... you need something that sounds good is strong and fits in your pocket and lasts at least 12 hours on batteries ( which are replaceable ) . . .. . something i havent yet seen . . . . the closest - old old old archos. loses on the fact its a brick. shrimp
DONT get an ipod nano please! My friends broke after just using it in his pocket, ok it looked nice and fancy but the it didnt with a cracked screen! He wasnt too happy to say the least, from my experience keep clear of apple as they do break or go faulty. Some interesting reading: Ipod Nano Screen Fault Do some reasearch especially search for Ipod nano screen.
trialsking 55
yeah and you can pay £3 for a thin see through case/skin and problem solved. and 1,000 spongs is easily enough. they are extremely user friendly, they have a mighty bling factor, and they're just, erm, good :turned:

My iPod mini, has been 18 hours non stop, which is what the apple site quoted. The iPod nano has 12 hours quoted, I imagine it will easily go for that. Good, save with the replaceable bit. Apple replace them free inside warranty. Creative tell you to buy a new one regardless, I know because it happened to my sister's friend. Buttons for morons? I don't know about you, but the easier it is to opperate the better it it. Agreed, sound is a priority, but there is nothing wrong with the player, it's just the poor in ear headphones, Creative headphones are no better.
