I tried araldite. DENIED. You can try pouring boiling water over it, and then hammering it off, but I tried that, and again it didn't work. Riding sans crank bolt worked first time, but it took 2 hours of proper riding to do it. Next time, I angle-ground the bitch off
Lawnmowerman
Rubber hammer and give it a good smack. Hold onto your pedal though, your crank will go flying and you'll miss a lot if you dont hold it. I had to hit some off at work yesterday. My hands were oily and the hammer went flying accross the workshop :( Luckily everyone was on their dinner

RicH_87
BOILING WATER and getting captain insano on it's ass will do the job.
nb88
Get a fat lump hammer, not some puny lightweight one, get a long block of wood, put up against crank as near to BB as possible (so the crank doesnt twist) and SMACK IT. If this doesnt work, hit it harder

RicH_87
araldite takes a looooong time to fully cure. i glued my gear knob on and had to drive stright after, it was all twisty wisty for the whole time. got home, left it over night and hey presto, solid as a rock. just remember if you glue a crank tool in, you're going to have to get it off again to glue it in the other crank. if thats what you planing to do of course, i could have got the shit coverd end of the stick as they say. Mark W
I doubt you forgot but you did mix the hardener in properly didnt you? Certainly did, mixed it in for the required 45 seconds. It worked for glueing in my pedal insert, but not my crank extractor. I think that it's just that force required to push the cranks off your bike is just too much, basically... The Dude
spray wd40 (liquid wrench or something oily) in there, so it soaks in. give it a good old clout on the side of the bb shaft (to break the friction weld) then it should just slide off. it takes alot of elbow grease to get them off, if it was only to grease it, id get a srynge and fill the bearing cups up with grease and just ride it.
