Ash-Kennard
If you think about It, side-hops are really a comp technique, therefore a comp bike will be more likely to allow you to side-hop better/higher. I ride a super short bike and I hate side-hops, so I guess It applies. ash.
SQuiT-man
Its 95% technique, sidehopping. BB rise helps get a bit higher, but the length of the bike itself doesnt effect it majorly- there are short bikes that sidehop very well, and there are long bikes that sidehop very well (e.g. in mods, the Monty 221 compared with zoo python!). In stocks, one of the main factors that I think limits sidehoppoing is the back wheel restricting your movement to compress enough to lift the bike up that bit higher, which is why BB rise helps, and when you get used to the feel, a bike such as a toxsin might help you sidehop that bit higher.
