Mark W
shortest rear yet made Shorter than the BT "Ninja" frame? My Zip's got a higher BB than the T-Pro I used to have, and I really like it. With my forks, it works out as nearly +65mm, and it just feels pretty damn good, really. Littleharrys
Basically there a bit strange when on two wheels cos you lean so far forward, kinda feels as if your going to fall over the bars at first. But get them on the back wheel and there real sweet. The balence point is spot on with the zoo pitbull. And for gapping the have a really nice flick out which makes it feel easier or needs less effort because you have more leverage. H
random
Yeah, 365mm is the Bt Ninja and it doesnt look it and mine was under 360 and is very easyerly done
Mark W
To me, "____ to front" moves feel way easier too. Just having more weight over the front means you can commit to it far more easily than with a lower BB, and I don't really mind sacrificing some rolling around stability for that. Yeah, 365mm is the Bt Ninja and it doesnt look it and mine was under 360 and is very easyerly done I don't really get how, unless you specifically ran a super low-profile tyre? BT had to remove some BB shell just so the tyre wouldn't hit it, so I wouldn't have thought you could have 'easily' gone under 360mm? You are measuring from centre of BB shell to centre of dropout, aren't you?
random
Yeah center of dropouts to center of bb. BB did have a cut away, was a slot that was milled into it. BB might of had soemthing to as there 5mm between BB shell and BB so by that thats said Bt was 365 and i was cuttin ito my shell so i got 360 saying 1mm clearnce 364 but then i said i moded the bb so i could have 35x?!!! Yeah im gonna make a new one, this time 1115mm, loving longer frames, might go 1130mm
Mark W
BB might of had soemthing to as there 5mm between BB shell and BB so by that thats said I don't really get how you mean? My BB's almost touching the BB shell in the mid-section, so I don't know how you've got "5mm between BB shell and BB", unless you filed the body/found a super thin BB? I know the FSA Platinum Pro DH ISIS BB's are narrower in the middle, but I wouldn't have thought you'd have got 5mm clearance :S Or were you trying to say you'd cut the BB up too? Didn't really get "Bt was 365 and i was cuttin ito my shell so i got 360 saying 1mm clearnce 364" either...
Lawnmowerman
Could use a bmx euro bb with isis cranks. Some of them have the same tapers i think :S
random
Alloy frame are thicker in place This was steal mind. 14G stuff so tough but no uber thick and heavy. I had a section taken out to fit the width of the tyre and tread i was running on my uber rim. 2.7 on 65mm wide rim! Umm yeah They were they changed and now it's a std size all the way along body with thiner bit. They were uber thin then went thick then thin then they stuck with one size being mixture The 5m is the point closte tothe center befor it goes down bb thiner and it's covered over the tread section dude. i had 1mm of tyre clearnce the whole time
Mark W
Could use a bmx euro bb with isis cranks. Some of them have the same tapers i think :S BMX's tend to have *way* more splines on their BB's. If you ran square taper, you *might* be able to try and find some BMX BB's that are starting to use square tapered interfaces (backwards step or what :)). But, if the tyre's that close in and you're running, say, a 2.35" tyre, you're going to need to cut widely into the BB shell to make it fit, so you'd basically need to remove some BB cup-age too. random
Hey Mark if you'd like to chat more on the new frame thats gonna have again the uber short rear end get in touch man, not sure if you blocked on my msn (sorry) but i shall unblock you if you are (need you address) and stuff. Mark W
I had a section taken out to fit the width of the tyre and tread i was running on my uber rim. 2.7 on 65mm wide rim! Umm yeah How wide was your BB shell? Must've been 85mm+? 'cos 2.7" is about 67.5mm, and that's 0.5mm off the width of the whole of my BB shell on my Zona Zip. To accomodate a 2.7" wide tyre and a pair of stays, your BB must be hella wide if you're running the tyre that close to the BB? The 5m is the point closte tothe center befor it goes down bb thiner and it's covered over the tread section dude. Still don't get that bit though :S i had 1mm of tyre clearnce the whole time Bad news if you get a buckle at all then :) EDIT: My Hotmail address is in my "Card" majigger. Not trying to be arguementative here, btw, just trying to find out how it works :)
random
Tight wheel builds, Compresion under tensioner spoke tweaking. Thats pump tyre to 90psi and spray gt 85 on the nipples laods, tweak it up loads and stress it and tweak again, leave to dry and then rease air slowly and no more wheel movement. BB shell was not 100mm, bb was 100mm x 148 Ever noticed not sure if you have how on a pash with burns the taper is in the bb sehll?? Thats a bit of a clue on mine, oh also leeson have it too.
