JTM
Im talking like 5gig of music though. Which I assume will take months. We need a direct way. Surely the cable should just work?
Lawnmowerman
can you not copy it all onto cd's? or use an mp3 player?

I put 10gb of trials stuff through doing it that way, because the connection is internal (intranet not internet) its super fast.
Tomm
Wireless should be pretty fast, only slightly less than wires. But anyway, to use normal (ethernet) cables, you need a crossover cable. Looks the same but it's slightly different. You'll have to buy that from a computer shop. Or you can use a firewire cable between the two computers and that should work also
JT!
Look at the colours of the cables at each end of the cat5 cable. If they are exactly the same order, it wont work. You need one that, well, isn't in the same order.
