Alex.loves.boys
hi im having some trouble's with back pain at the moment and i was wondering if you guys could help me out a little? i recently purchased a zoo mod stem. now as you know this stem is really low compared the stem i was using before , wich was a t-master stem. now like i said im starting to get back pains in the evenings after rides is this due to the stem being so low?or is it because ive gone from a high stem to a smaller stem? will it continue? does anyone else have the same problems using a zoo stem? the stem makes my bike ride realy nice, so i dont want to get ride of it unless these back pains arnt going to go and if they cause me major problems or get worse , then obviolsy i will have to change. so thanks for your help. minture <_< :S
Lawnmowerman
Roll your bars forward and move your levers up a bit <_<
Mark W
Could be like when you get new grips though, and you have to re-callous your hands? You're used to riding with a higher front, so your back has to adapt to the new stem. However, I always found the ZOO! stem to feel like shite, so I guess I'm kinda biased... ghosts_cloak
Hi! Grr at back pains - I know how you feel. I was getting them paricularly badly the first few weeks I had my bike, but then I started stretching before every ride and I also moved my bars further forwards. Touch wood the pain has been reduced (but not eliminated). So what trialsboy said could be worth a shot <_< And definately start stretching before a ride if you dont already :S ~Gaz

mat hudson
that really is "gods" way of telling you to put the t master stem back on  does it "really" ride that much better that you'd want to put your health at risk ???? steve sturt
I used to get back ache in the small of back, usually from repeated attempts to up a high wall to both tyres. I fully embraced the front tap years ago, and I think its the jarring from that. Just let your body get used to it all. Give it a rest when it tells you too. Littleharrys
I think it just part of trials riding. I get some times, usually when riding everyday of a long days ride when im really trying hard. But most of it is because of the position of riding that trials puts on your back, cos bmxers get the same problem cos the way you are sqaushed up on the bike. With a normal bike sitting down takes the strain off your back. If it gets bad just take a day or two off(Or pain killers, its the way forward!!!!), but seriously, if it gets bad ask the doc, when I did he said just rest cos if you keep riding when its bad, you could really do your back in for later in life!! I know it sounds a bit Pansy like, but I intend on using my back later in life, do you?? H
