Chris Cook
Right i take it a few people have got there heatsink boosters now and have tested them out. So what are they like? Are they better than the control booster or as good as any other ones etc etc etc? Loads of info please! Chris (Y)
JT!
They're alot lighter and alot cheaper. I'd buy one basied on that. (Y)
munkee
They're alot lighter and alot cheaper. I'd buy one basied on that. (Y) You could also say that about an Echo 4 bolt booster as well. The standard £20 one being lighter and cheaper. OR Just maybe we can have a post with actual useful information from someone who owns and has used the booster just like the topic starter asked for. No offence but thats also the worst spelling of based i have seen in my life. This forum is becoming tragic to say the least. Will Arnold
just to enforce his point further, a carrot is cheaper and lighter than a cucumber* but it isnt as good at being a cucumber (Y) *based on sainsburys pricelist

JT!
But it is lighter and cheaper than the controll isn't it? Just passing on the facts. (Y) Not loads of people have them yet, there's only a handfull who have rode them properly yet i can imagine. Edited September 29, 2005 by JT! Chris :- Depends what diameter carrot or cucumber you buy, where you buy it from and how old it is, but I'd say the cucumbers stiffer, especially if u freeze it (Y)

Technical Tom
Would the booster fit a mod? (is the tyre clearance enough) the spacing of the holes will fit 93 - 105 i think. Thanks, Tom Edited October 1, 2005 by onza_tom123

Burton
Only the stock one has been released, the mod one is soon to follow. The current Heatsink booster only fits stocks, unless you've got a mod with the wheel really far back, so you can get some clearnace. Otherwise the Mod booster should be available with in a few weeks. Mark has got some cut-outs of the booster, and hopefully i should be receiving some soon. I've helped to sort out some tyre clearnace and width problems, along with slightly bringing down the weight........so long as Steve takes the ideas into account <_< Buy the Heatsink booster, tis a little stiffer and lighter than the Echo Control booster, but just more pimp looking. And cheaper

Phatmike
Pics have been a little bit delayed, but here's my booster. ;) Link to more pics of my ride Really impressed with this booster, my brake's so much stiffer than when I had my Echo Control booster, looks better, lighter etc, and I've missed having a booster (sold my booster with my '04 frame), as it's so much nicer having the cross over hose covered up. Mike. :-
TomN
Very nice bike there Fatmike and colour scheme, I think you need to do your bar ends in orange aswell  ;)
ben_travis
i too got my heatsink booster, put new pads on, and gave my rear brake a bleed, all i can say is truly awesome, i know im sponsored by steve, however i want you to believe me when i say, i wouldnt try anything else. I had an RB on at the fort william comp, and my brakes moved around in the mounts this heatsink booster is totally different, the brakes stay straight and its very stiff, can be done up very tight with no problems. its very much worth the money. i would say so. cheers ben
Chris Cook
Looks like i will be getting one then. They look mint as well
tank_rider
Just thought i'd add my 2p worth to this thread. I got my booster on monday, but only got out to ride it today. First test was some nice slippy natural where my brake had been slipping (heatsink blues with an old style mag and medium grind). To my delight i was able to ride all afternoon without a sign of brake slip in sight, did quite a few boon fests up sloped rocks which would previously have resulted in brake slip, but nothing this time, just pure unbridled locking goodness. So that seems to have solved my rear brake slipping problems on my rex. The stiffness is excellent, even though it looks like it has had massive amounts of material removed which is mightily impressive. I'm not a weight weenie and so didnt get the scales out, but suffice to say it didn't feel heavy in the slightest when i was fitting it. Fitment was simple, straightforward and easy with no interference or difficulties setting up the brake. Now onto the booster itself, the quality is immediately noticeable the minute you get it out the plastic wrapper, the finish is smooth and consistent with all corners rounded to stop ankle killing incidents. The anodising is very nice and even in colour and should prevent any oxidisation meaning it should keep its good looks for the forseable future. All in all a quality product thats been well thought out and well made, and sold for a price which is unrivalled for the quality and research on show. A big healthy thumbs up from me (Y)
