cp101
Looks like I'm gonna have to get a new bike. I have an old Specialized p.3 ( 2002, its old ), and things are going to shit left and right. So, looks like I'm gonna have to build a new bike, or buy a new bike. Things I can salvage; Cassete, r-derailleur, crank( new one, at that ), chain, bottom bracket, front wheel, handlebars, stem, pedals, brakes ( and levers ), shifter lever and random cables. To remove all and install all of said items on new bike; $30 to 50 USD. New fork; ~200 USD New frame ~300usd ( probably one of the planet x or woodman ) ( dunno, frame might last longer, but not expecting as such ) New rear wheel with hub ~150 USD Currently, without the frame, I'm looking at 350 USD. Now, the things wrong with my bike; Disc tabs on front fork are non-existant. Disc brake holes on rear hub are non existant. I could; Get strong V-brakes ( maguras require a four bolt mount, I've got 2, :) ) on front and rear and make sure to maintain my bike well. Or just get a new bike altogether. Or,say f**k This, and just get a shitty road bike. This sport is not exactly cheap. Goddamn. And I can't even do the simplest of trials specific moves, other than trackstanding. Mark W
Maguras don't need 4-bolt mounts, the HS33 used to just have 2 anyway. http://www.magura.de/english/bremsen/04_hs33.htm I would add more, but I'm hella tired and might go soon. Anyway, the Woodmans are prone to cracking, so I'd probably go for the P-X. Alternatively, keep checking second-hand items up for grabs :)

rickyb
Yes he could do that but i don't think he hs that much to spend. £500 converted to USD is i think a bit out of his price range. You could always keep an eye out on for sale/ wanted section there are always some good bargins to be had :) good luck mate rickyb
