JT!
I think it's a shame they kill so many people, but you can't exactly stop them so :P
mod_rider
You can't do anything except hide or run. A natural phoenomenon that destroys everything
munkee
Not wanting to sound too harsh, i know its all a natural disaster etc and its sad to see people losing homes and lives. But to be honest... there are hurricanes every year that hit the carribean it was only a matter of time before one made it all the way up the gulf. To get my point across... everyone is bitching about how they didnt see it coming.. when blatantly they did. Its like living in tornado alley and not expecting to see a tornado.. ever. Then getting shitty because their home was wiped out by a tornado.
Tony Harrison
Animal habitats are destroyed on a daily basis, from woodland in the UK to rain forests in the Amazon. I sympathise with those caught up in natural disasters and I wouldn't wish it on anybody, but it just goes to show that as human's we're not special, immune or invincible and that we're at the mercy of nature just like the animals. Still, these hurricanes don't really compare to 'the Tsunami' in January...
Mark W
In that they have a "hurricane season" every year, you'd have thought they'd have got their shit together so they were better prepared for when they hit, wouldn't you? philth
Yeh it sucks but is cool dall at the same time..In the past two years of being here i have only prepared for a hurricane once....and that f**ker the eye wall missed my house by like 7 miles and my dads by about 2. People here are starting to learn to leave, but alot dont for fear of looting. The one that i prepared for I was by myslef in the house, and when it came found the tip of florida i buggered of to the East coast....that was one fun but scary drive... :) My view is that the American are taking too long to get the act together to prevent global warming and carma is a bitch. It was also the the first time that two class 5 (the worse type of 'caine) has hit them in one season though.
Michael Hardman
Good old mother nature, serves the twats right for building in an area of land below sea level, what do you expect. Oh Ill live in fear of a flood. Its nature cause so let it be.
Tony Harrison
Yeah, natural selection! We shouldn't interfere, it's natures way of weeding out the stupid genes.
Mark W
true, and they did get there shit together for rita. It was also the the first time that two class 5 (the worse type of 'caine) has hit them in one season though. Katrina was only a Class 4, and they downgraded Rita to a Class 1. If Katrina hadn't f**ked New Orleans, I doubt they'd have gone to half the trouble over Hurricane Rita. If they hadn't pulled out all the stops, the public would've raped George Bush. And you don't wanna be publicly raped

Just before it hit they downgraded it to 2, then down to 1 when it was there, it seems :P Either way, I think they 'bigged it up' just to get people to get there shit together and move out, maybe?
