Dan Clark
Where is it flexing? I weigh more than that and mine is as stiff as hell.
Tom Booth
i weigh 15 and a bit and mines like a boulder, stupidly stiff. :P
Brisa
What bb/cranks are you running? My set up of square echo cranks on un52 bb make my bike feel sloppy.
Mr Motivator
Sq taper cranks will make it feel slightly more flexy I belive, but nothing worth noting. Are your spokes nice and tight? :P
Bionic Balls
have you got any inner tubes? :P
Canned
if you suspect the frame is cracked and this is causing the flex try this: get some masking tape (the papery tape) and tape across the welds of everywhere that could possibly be cracked. Go out and ride it like you stole it... check to see if the tape has stretched or torn anywhere... if not, it's most likely something else cos I'm nearly 14 st and find it completely solid... Go out and ride it like you stole it... check to see if the tape has stretched or torn anywhere...You're never gonna stretch a crack by enough to rip the tape. You'd see a hairline crack ages before it was big enough to rip tape :)
Mr Motivator
Tape wont work. The way aircraft engineers check wheels for cracks is dip them in dye and look at them under a UV light, could do that with a frame if you were that sad. mat hudson
i wouldnt call ensuring hundreds of people dont die is "sad" but maybe im just old fasioned :)
Mr Motivator
i wouldnt call ensuring hundreds of people dont die is "sad" but maybe im just old fasioned :) 100s of people dieing would be very sad. You'd be 'sad' to dip your frame. Only one person would die in that case anyway, and one death is a tragedy but one thousand is a statistic. Luke Drewery
I have noticed that my t-rex is flexing too lately. My bike has been creaking a lot lately around the bottom bracket area. I weigh dead on 11 stone and when I was leant against the wall the other day I pushed up and down with my legs and I could see the whole seat tube area twisting under the force. I checked for cracks but there arent any. I dont know what the problem is because I have a truvativ gigapipe dh bottom bracket (newish) and a pair of middleburn pro trials cranks and everything is tightened as much as it will go. Onza Kieron
Mine has no frame flex but loads of flex in the bars and the forks, try pulling both brakes and bouncing up and down, then balance and let the front brake off, if your wheel jumps forward then something is flexing. Kieron :)
ian
trust people his frame is flexing loads lol and there are no cracks
N.Wood
Just to get things straight, it is the 2005 isn't it? Not the old, shitty design. Either way, it must be cracked somewhere, surely? Is your BB snapped? Or Axle snapped?
ian
yeah its the new one i suppose ill have to take his bb out and check it but it is a un52 though

Yep mines a 2005 and its definately flex from the seat tube/bb area as you can literally see the frame twisting sideways under pressure when you push your weight down on it. Im not really bothered though, ill ride it until its in two peices before I get another frame (unless I get some cash, then ill upgrade lol). :)
