quick_spider
My trusty £13 Truvative BB is nearing the end of it's life. I bought a replacement for it (another Truvative) but it wont fit properly in my frame - the new BB has a lip on it which the BB cup sits against. Because of the lip, the outer diameter of the BB is larger than before and it wont fit into the BB Shell. Obviously it clears the threads, but there's some other crap in there, probably weld from the seat/downtube. What's the best/easiest way to remove it? I'm guessing the dremel will be the easiest way to make it fit... Or should I be using this as an excuse to ditch the Middleburns and fit XTR cranks? Burton
Its not an excuse, but maybe a sign? If you can afford it, then consider it, or; wait for new Tensiles, buy Zoo! cranks(but only 170mm). Otherwise your best bet is to just grind the lip of the bb. I had to do it on my Truvativ DH BB, for me Onza T-Lite because the frame was built poorly.
