butcha87
Which Profile hub do I want, the mini or the SS?I ride mostly street, with a little bit of park and dirt. Is it worth gettin 36h in the back?If not I will just go with the SS built onto a Sun Big City rim with Mutiny spokes. Are Alans ok wheelbuilders? Cheers in advance
narrowbars
Do you run pegs? Are you bothered about weight? Alot of the bmx riders around here use a mini with 14mm ti axel. If you ride hard or run pegs I would get 48h. If you don't run pegs I would get the mini. If you can afford to get the ti axel at the same time as you get the hub (cheaper in the long run). Alans build some of the best wheels as do custom riders.
the666ers
You should take a look at all the available hubs and see what you think suits your price range best. Then you need to consider how important weight is to you, and what sort of punishment you will be giving it. The mini is the lighter option but not as burly as the ss. To be honest, I've never seen any issues with the mini so you'll be wiser going for that if you want light weight. 36h built well should be strong enough and lighter, but if you run pegs and really ride hard the ss will last longer. If you are looking for a fully built wheel then look at shops such as Pijin, Alans, Custom riders...These are the cheapest places and are known for the best service. OnzaboyMark on here has a Pijin wheel and is pleased with it so ask him if you want to know any more. James
butcha87
I will be running pegs, definately. So I guess I should go for the SS, 36 or 48? I'm going for Alans, I've had no problems with them in the past, although I never knew Pijin existed, I might try them in the future! Thanks for all the replies.
