PaRtZ
OK I read a few days ago about someone wanting a longer fork and then I came up with this. Just supposing the (fall guys?) didn't exist.... I dont know if its just my forks, but lower crowns can come off. Soo, whats stopping people taking the crown off, putting some spacers on the bottom and then putting the crown back over the top? This would in effect create the forks longer and thus higher front end :) Suggestions? or has this already been done?
Dan Clark
As in like the headset race thing on the steerer tube? Because that wedges on at the bottom, if you put spacers there, it wouldn't wedge on anything, so would be really loose, therefore, headset=poo. And the steerer tube would most likely be too short unless you had new forks, in which case you might as well buy some long ones.
Mr Motivator
The lower race crown would be wobbling all over the place
trials_pimp
yea, that wont work, as the lower race is an interference fit, so if you raise it, it wont be secure. If you want a higher front end, seek Br3n.
loffa
I know a street/dj/fr rider who has put a spacer under the crown race on his Planet-X Pitbull, because otherwise he couldn't do barspins (the fork's crown was hitting the downtube) and it seems to work for him fine. PaRtZ
I suppose if you could pack out the inside of the crown so it was tight? or buy a 1inch crown and file out 1/16th of it  Never mind, just an idea lol (N)
