trialkid
today the rally curcuit has stood still, markko martins co driver Michael "Beef" Park was killed in the wales GB rally, i was there and its just crazy, they were 4th i think on the first stage, where i was, the margam park stage they slide sideways into a tree to the passeneger side at speed, killing michael instantly and the last 2 stages were cancelled, its weird as i saw him up close thursday night saw him saturday and today then literally hours later they crash n he was killed. my condolences go to his friends and family, he has to children too and im sure they are devasted, its a said day for the rally world... RIP michael (Y)
RicH_87
thats really unlucky. got home from work today and thought, oh, i'll catch the last few mins of the GB rally, but instead there was some random plastersene thing on. That explains it now. it must of been an insane crash, i can't remember the last really serious rally injury, despite some of the amazingly harsh crashes that happen. r.i.p to park, and thoughts to markko, i used to love him when he drove the rs focus (Y)
trialkid
yea same here, he and the focus belonged together imo, for a serious accident in a WRC car though they just have been going incredibly fast. but if not, maybe issues on the new peugots as they havent had many big accidents and the first they had was fatal. i wonder if markko ever races again, and as for peugot will they rae again this year as they are leaving at the end of the year. RicH_87
yeh i can't really see markko continuing at least until next season if at all. and as for peugeot, i think they should of stuck with the 206, i've always hated that 307, just doesn't seem to fit like the 206 did. on a lighter note, i saw that colin mcrae got 2nd on that stage (if you can count it), nice too see him back kicking ass. trialkid
yea he was, solberg and marcus seemed well on it too, and mark higgins was flying, good old mark (Y) yea the 206 fitted just so much better, and they looked soo sexy too. pity peugot had to end on such a bad note, its so sad. Littleharrys
Respect I can't belive it!! Peugot pulled out of the rally for obvious reasons but I can't belive the WRC gave the other Peugot driver penalty points for pulling out. How could they race on after what had happened?? That was well out of order The one mintute silence with all the drivers and co drivers instead of the prizes podium was a great way to show respect I thought.
