wayneone
Thanks mate i knew someone like you would know, on the side your a bike mechanic arnt you? how did you start your carreer? did you do a apprenticeship or just get a job at a lbs and go from there, i know for a fact that if i wasnt half way though my apprenticeship id want to go into bike mechanics. But then i guess after a while servicing knackered old bikes gets boring. (I cant find the spell check button so sorry for any mistakes)
Lawnmowerman
Saw an ad in the paper, went for an interview and got the job :'( It does get reeeeeealy boring after a few thousand repairs. It's weird how you can tell whats wrong with a bike just by having a quick look.

am4zin
my mate who does triathlon reckons that if i was to go for a short cage rear deraileur it should be either 105 or ultegra which isnt too expensive but still ranks kind of high in the shimano range. but i've got an 8 speed cassette as well and when i went to my bike shop the best they could do were 10 speed ultegra deraileurs :)

ian
what is the point in a top spec road mech on a trials bike. im a road cyclist and i can tell you that a decent road mech does give ubber nice shiffting but on a trials bike you really need fluent shiffting aslong as it shifts its ok
