James Quigley
I dont think so. Last week I wanted one but I had to go for the 203mm (gives crazy power though) The part of the caliper that the bolts hold it to the forks by is different on the rear and front ones, as the positioning of the caliper alters slightly from frames to forks. I would reccommend going for the 203 version from chain reaction, but other places do have the 185's (for a tenner more than the 203's, which is weird)
Tomm
I know you can't do it without some kind of adapter. I think it might be -20mm for the front (or a 20mm bigger disc, obviously), but I'm not sure on that. I'm sure someone will be along shortly with a more definite answer :D
Bigman
Yup, as tom said, front is +20mm, as if u look, any hydro rear 160mm caliper, is EXACTLY the same as the front 180mm version, so if u brought the 185 rear avid, u would need to get hold of a 205mm rotor for it to work :D Adam
tipsy Jock
You can but you then need to buy the 180mm front adapter, The rear one will equal the 205 front. Going back to an avid will? :D Have tried everything else really lol Pete

Tony Harrison
Will, Danny runs a 180 rear Avid on the front with a 205 disk. He prefers it to the proper front Avids because it doesn't have that silly red dial on the caliper.

I bought a rear 185 Avid cable caliper to run with my 205 Hope rotor on the front and it fits perfectly. Dan
Caleb
I got a rear off "quick spider" and hed modded it with a grinder or a dremel so it would fit on the front. Im sure he wouldnt mind you asking him how he did it :)
