Tricks and Stunts did it for me. As it was, I had to learn stuff totally alone for like a year and a half, so Tricks and Stunts helped me learn to backhop, etc. Nowt wrong with tutorial stuff, I'm pretty sure 90% of us will have looked at them at some point :D

I watched T&S 1 and 2 (in fact I bought them both) and they were inspiring, but there's no substitute for practising.

When I bought Revolution I was absolutely shocked by Ryan Leech's riding - I'd never seen anything like it before. Anyone who has got as much as he has out of our sport is certainly not a tit. Have you ever even met him?

Meh, id rather go out and have fun learning my own technique and learning how to do the moves myself, rather than have a tit (yes i call him this cause i hate his riding style!) tell me how to ride cause then you can say you have actually gained somthing in trials!

You are a tit, I don't like your riding style.

You having a laugh?

"Tricks and Stunts" was very entertaining and was pretty well thought out at the time.

"Mastering the Art of Trials" is, IMHO, better thought out and somewhat more comprehensive, and is overall, IMHO, a better constructed learning tool. But you would expect that after the ~6 year gap between the making of these videos.

Ideally, if you can afford to, get both videos. If you cannot stretch that far, I would recommend the ryan leech one as the better one to buy initially. It doesn't have the comedy story element that T+S has, but it does cover many more techniques and covers them in a consistent and thorough manner.

Ryan still has a seat on his bike :)

Its all about still having a seat on a bike. Why in gods name wouldn't you want one? Is it so you can suck up more when you hop, or so that your legs don't hit it when riding. Ohhhhh that extra inch of room must make it so much easier to ride. :) i think not. With a seat what are its advantage, your thinking... nothing. Well, you can sit down and peddle it like a MOUNTIAN BIKE.

PLANET-X FOR EVER!!!!

Are you joking?? In a world filled with taps and sidehops and gaps, he does something totally different. I can find it boring too sometimes, but look at what he has done in his career and some of his riding is mental. How many people do you think you will ever see riding along a thin round rail, then down onto a chain and back up onto the rail and not even get close to loosing his balance.

He might not be "fashionable" and ride uci, but he is a great rider and I have loads of respect for him.

To be honest, i find ryan leeches riding boring, there is no real variation in his style and technique. Most vids on posted on TF are better than manifesto, and the art of trials. ryan leech :)

Why? Is it because the TF videos are tap up this, or side hop up this he use's a wide range of techniques whilst being sh*t smooth. He is emaginative. Thats why in my opinion trials is loosing its sprit. When i first started there were LOADS of riders, two of then being Leon and Nick, they were so inventive when riding they used everything and more. Then it changed to, drop of the wall 25 times in the same way, it should be drop it once or twice then adjust it by changing the littlest or biggest thing. Most people don't ride for personal satisfaction its so they can say: I landed it smoother than you, your sh*t because you cant tap 52" it f*cks me off. And saying Manifestos boring, come on you tart when you get to his level then you can start saying hes sh*t. but until that day, look at your own style (if you have one) and learn of the legends and the greats not just dave from down the road.

Bitch over.

I think you need to calm down Flower. You obviously like ryan. I like ryan aswell, but I can find manifesto boring. You say "all vids are now is tap this sidehop that". Which is true, but manifesto is spin of this, jump up that spin off something again. Just because he is spinning rather than tapping or whatever doesnt make it any less repetative. Why are you having ago at him because he doesnt like it. I personaly thought it was too short and a touch predictable. I did enjoy it and the bonus stuff is the main reason to buy it.

So are you saying you cant have an opinon unless your better than the rider you want to have an opinon about?? Thats stupid and encourages the behaviour you claim you hate. You obviously dont like a vid of vince or the coustelliers, but they have amazingly smooth technical style. Or is that not style because they dont land drops flat??

I am calm by the way iv just got a hang over :) . I'm not saying the coust videos are poo, there not in the slightest there amazing but it is tap this, sidehop that. but you have to see why I'm coming from. Rhyn does do a lot of spinning and sidehoping over things ect but it is much more varied. But in the end its my opinion yours will be different, someone else's will be different from both of ours. Think about it. Have a good day anyway.

Agreed, and how can i get to his level flower if all i do is tap this and sidehop that? i ride trials how i like to ride trials, he rides trials how he likes to ride trials, he has a different approach to it which i respect, but have no interest in, making the videos not very appealing to me. diddnt mean to offend as you seem to like his riding :)

Ahhhh good point, I can understand where your coming from, as i said i have nothing against tapping ect that would just be stupid, i'm learning to tap properly/consistently at the moment, any way on that happy note ;) . Keep riding for you and you only.

Peace :)
