RicH_87
why not? just cos it hasn't killed as many people? well judging by the pictures a lot of that land isn't gonna be back to normal for 10's of years, maybe never. at least when the tsunami hit, it went away again, so people could re-build and clean up striaght away. not a lot you can do when half your land is underwater. Whole villages and communities were wiped away - and that's whole villages and communities were killed off with no survivors. There was no warning, no chance to get away or prepare. It was far, far worse.

Tomm
And you think things were any better in Asia? Whole villages and communities were wiped away - and that's whole villages and communities were killed off with no survivors. There was no warning, no chance to get away or prepare. It was far, far worse. Also there's been 600 or so killed in America, compared to 200,000 from the tsunami.
ZeroMatt
It really does show the extent of the damage, everywhere is screwed
Mark W
Yes, but - and this IS a fact, so whether you don't believe it or not it doesn't mean shit - the tsunami destroyed more towns/villages, killed more people, and devastated more land. The areas of New Orleans are flooded, but not completely wiped off the face of the earth like the sorta sketchier village/towns were in the path of the tsunami. Jeez, just look at some of the maps of where the tsunami began/headed to see the true extent of the damage it did. It was crazy :D\ The tsunami didn't just "go away so they could rebuild again". Because of the fact towns did just get destroyed, there was no infrastructure, and they had no possessions or anything left os they couldn't "just rebuild straight away". The last thing I heard was that New Orleans would be pumped dry in less than 4 weeks at the most...
