RicH_87: mate, if it was always snowing, i would never live in that country. But the weather is usually nice in Summer and Autumn.

snappel, thanks Ian. Looking forward to getting "beaucoup de la musique de toi" (N)

And yes, it's the full Monty. What's wrong with that? :-

JT!, it is a Monty tyre 2.7. The biggest ever. I luv it so much, because it i never hit the rim with my heavy weight arse.

Grrrrrr, never mind, where do you buy them? they better than CC's?

Hehe :-

These Tyres came with my Monty as it is.

When I saw these tyres at the World Champs (in the Monty stall) I fell in love with them. The guys told me it would never be for sale as it was a prototype. They said the retail one will be max 2.6 And that's what we've got on the Monty website.

But if you look at the new 221pr specs, it says 2.7.

When I saw these tyres at champs, I begged my russian Monty dealer (montybikes.ru) to try to bring the tyres with the bike. We never knew what would come, but when we opened the box, we saw the 2.7 on the bike. The second 221Ti also came with that tyre.

I guess Monty finally decided to produce them...

Or maybe it was my dealer who made them put the tyres with his order...

Anyway, I know the same bikes in the UK come with standard 2.5 tyres....

terror-error, erm...they are a lot fatter than the CC's.....but I have never ridden CC's, so I can't really tell you...my 2.7 is pretty soft...as soft as CC.

I like the Monty ones more...they have grippy protector on the sides and they look sooo nice....and they are good for my weight, because there is always plenty of space for "sketchy landing"...

They sit pretty close to the chainstays on my Monty.

I have just tried the Zoo Python '04 frame with that tyre - there is even more free space on Zoo. So there won't be any problem with fitting it.

The only thing is that Monty rims are pretty narrow comparing to TryAll for example, so I am not sure if my tyre fits when i use it with TryAlls.

Your dealer obviously threatened the Monty supplier with harsh mafia reprisals if the bike wasn't supplied with 2.7's. Nothing's wrong with the Monty spec mate, Lukes Monty had really nice bits on it...

I was just about to say the exact same thing Ian :)

For anyone who has not met Dmitri, what can I say, he is a bit of a character! :)

How are your helmet pads lasting Dmitri? :- (N) :-

in england they come with 2.6's, which are also massive!

the 2.7 one is the heavier one to go on the lower range bikes!

you can tell the difference because the lighter ones have little cicle holes in the side tread where yours doesnt!

the lighter one is awsome by the way!

joE!

Yeah, I agree that the lighter - the better, but now imagine me.

I am very tall and heavy and another 200 grams won't do any difference to me.

The problem i used to have is that sometimes due to my weight i hit the rims very hard. And with this big tyre there is no problem about that.

And by the way....Russia is such a funny country....you must have a very posh car to be respected :- e.g. If you have a '92 BMW 520 it's much better than a '05 Toyota Avensis...I am not sure if you understand me right, but this country is very differenet from the UK...

and due to this fact having 2.7 instead of 2.5 means being a COOL GUY (N) Hehe :-
