JT!
Yey another problem. :P Got a new bb, 73 x 128mm FSA DH. Put it in, the left hand side cup only screwed in half way, but i have seen a few riders who haven't got theirs screwed in very far to a ignored it. Went to put the driveside crank arm on and when i got it tightish the freewheels notches were already pressed against the bb shell. :D I used to run a 124mm bb and the notches had at least 3mm away. Is it just the way the bb is, or am i missing something?
Lawnmowerman
try using the cups from your old bb and i bet it works.

Lawnmowerman
Whats your old bb? If you thread it into the frame on the rh side you can give it a few taps and the bb will come away from the cup

Still i shouldn't have to do that really.
loffa
If you use a 73mm bb in a 68mm frame then you should use a 2.5mm or 5mm bb spacer on the driveside. It won't solve the freewheel rubbing problem, but that way the left hand cup will either screw in all the way(when using a 5mm spacer) or 2.5mm of the cup will stick out in case you use a 2.5mm spacer. I don't mind the left had side cup sticking out a bit it's the freewheel rubbing that's the problem.
Lawnmowerman
I guarantee you its the depth of the cup, some have loads of space behind the teeth and some have the bearings flush up against them. I had to do the exact same thing to my bb to make it fit, ive only got about 1mm clearance but it works
Mark W
Shit <_<\ I can't remember how much clearance I had with my FSA... I know with my Gigapipe I've got approx. FA with Tensiles + an Eno, but I want to put my Echo bash on, so I was gonna get an FSA. Hell, I need a new BB anyway so it's not so bad, but still, I'm not 100% sure my bash'll fit w/Eno, as I need another 4mm clearance from somewhere

Mark W
Truvativ Gigapipe DH, 73x127.5 (or 128mm, whatever Fagativ (I'm a comedy genius) decided to go for), with the 73->68 spacer in.
JT!
And where can i buy such an item (don't say CRC).
Mark W
Erm, second hand, with the 175mm Tensiles you'd have bought from Travistrials like 6 months ago? :"> I honestly don't know, to be honest. Are they out of stock with CRC or something? Tried bikedock? Either that, or go to Truvativ's site and check their UK distros?
JT!
no, scrap that :"> Edited September 12, 2005 by JT!

JT!
Scrap what? ← Lol, nothing. Found a site and it offers 68mm and 73mm both in 128 <_<" , would it make sence just to get the 68mm? Or does it really matter?
Mark W
73, not least 'cos the T-Lite's 73mil, ain't it? Either way, more options for selling it on/putting it in a new frame?

Bionic Balls
jus' file the tabs off..... problem gone. <_< adam
Mark W
If you mean the extractor tabs on the Eno, no. In that that freewheel costs £83.99 new or something like that (dunno, I got mine somewhere cheap <_<), I'd rather not make it so to take it off I have to remove the driveshell and f**k the body of it up. Also, I'd save just under 1mm of material (the tabs are only 1mm long, with a 16mm wide body as opposed to the ACS's 2mm tabs/15mm body, so there's not much saving anyway), which isn't really the 4mm I need... If you were talking about slimming down the BB though, I may have to do that a bit \
JT!
Yeah what he said. I'm just going to get a gigapipe (or whatever they're called) then it'll definatly fit. Edited September 12, 2005 by JT!
