Dan6061
'ello all, Our computer was temporarily in my room untill dining room floor was re-tiled. And thats done so it's been moved out. I have our old computer (mine) in my room now, but I want the internet in there! :D At the moment we're connected with the USB Modem you get with AOL on the computer in dining room. But I already know there is no way I can connect 2 computers to it...(or can I?) Would it be possible to email AOL and ask them to send another modem, and then have the new one on my computer? Or should I just wait untill I get payed and buy a wireless router etc? Cheers :P
rich4130
Just buy a router and two network cards, and some cables, easy.
Tomm
Just buy a router and two network cards, and some cables, easy. ← I don't think that'll work for a USB modem. And the chances of getting another modem from AOL are slim. Best bet is to use a crossover cable between the two computers and then bridge the connections (I think that'll work). Otherwise you might have to try the internet connection sharing wizard, which is a twat :P
Tony Harrison
Tomm, If you have two filters and two ADSL routers, and two phone jacks, can you run two connections side by side?
nb88
Can't you run ethernet on your modem or is it usb only?
