MattB
hi i have moved my magura brake levers and inch away from the grip and hold them with two fingers but sometimes i think i might be better with. Does it really matter or should i use 1 or 2 fingers. Please help
Mat Smith!
It doesnt matter that much, but i prefer to use one finger. Others like to use two

Da-bomb-boi
most people use 1 because it allows u too have better control on the bars which will help u out as you progress. but at the end of the day its fun and you need to feel comfortable but its something to look into for the future
Boothy
Most people only use 1 i think. If you are finding it hard, keep going, eventually it will feel easier and will improve.
flipkickbs
Once you get the hang of using only one finger it will feel so much better, far easier to control the bikes due to a more solid grip on the bars, if you feel like you don't have as much power in braking using one finger then get your brake working really well so it doesn't need as much force to hold you, soon it will feel really natural and improve your riding! hope this helped :-
MattB
when i use 1 finger and i go to brake i always find that my backwheel goes way back. The only thing is i don't know how to fix maguras

trialsmastersam
Hi mate i use one finger mainley because i find you get more grip but it dose take a bit of geting used to.
Jeza
I use one finger, because then you still have 3 fingers to rap around the bar so you can move it around easier, and pull the bars up easier, but its personal pref. N.Wood
In the first year or so it doesn't matter. I only ever used one finger on the rear, but i used to use 2 on the front due to a Dia-Compe lever on unbranded calipers - i.e a shit brake. As soon as i went to a decent brake (magura) i used one and you'll realise the extra control you have straight away. After about one year it's generally considered you should be using one finger, as you'll need all the fingers you can get hold of to grasp the bar. JT!
One finger, if your using two, get out the habbit now. You get much more control over releasing and pulling with your pointing finger as it more independant from the otheres. :-
rupertsub2003
i use 1 finger because it gives my more grip on the bars i use my middle finger so i have a finger on each side of the braking finger for more grip. (Y) ;)
picki
dont be a girl, use one finger

ronan_zj
Form the point of my view, I consider 1 finger to brake is better than 2 fingers, sometimes when you do a huge pedal up, 1 finger is more comfortable. However it depends on your preference.
bigpimpndave
I am just getting into the habit of using one finger as it allows a better grip on the bars the first few times it feels awkward and uncomfortable but you soon get used to it after a couple rides
Canned
I read some advice here about using one finger so, considering I had only just started, I got used to this before getting too used to two.... You need good brakes to get away with it but I find I'm more confident in my control over the bike as I have a better grip on the bars. 2055
i find it much easier to use 1 finger because its easier to do tricks and learn with
Luke Drewery
1 finger is the only way to go in my opinion, you get good grip on the bar and better control. Just make sure that your brakes work well and you shouldnt find it a problem with 1 finger braking.
MattB
thanks for all the help guys. I have now got used to 1 finger braking and it definatly is better especially helping me to gap.
bousfield19
hi i tend to use 1 finger for breaking most of the time i find it so much easier to controll it realy depends on your brake setup what leavers ect i use 1 finger if im using maggies but if im using v's i tend to use 2 to get a bit extra power on the breaks
