cp101
I am unable to attach a front disc brake to my fork now, so if i were to get a brake ( moderately priced, not looking to throwdown a half months salary for a fooking brake, you know ) which one would you fellas suggest? Tomm
Magura. Buy a second hand one for about £25.
trialridertom
Yes get a second hand magura:pirate: :-
emery
You could get a magura or try and avid v-brake if you like v-brakes I've heard there better than maguras. toby
streetjibs
Vee brake on the front for sure :- works good enough.. in some cases can work better then a magura. also theres the extra little benefit of being able to quickly unhook the cable to take front wheel out for transporting the bike or whatever low maintenance, cheap and works well. hope it helps
lankyri
id say a maggie 04 version or a avid with a decent cable
shovel
if your not wanting to spend too much then a second hand magura or a v-brake with a decent set of pads
mat hudson
get a v brake, a high end shimano or avid will be fine and wont cost all that much
flipkickbs
Hs 33 with heatsink reds, bites like a crocodile!!
Mark W
Magura HS33 - solid, reliable, nice lever feel when you bleed with water. Plazmatic CRM pads - grippy as hell, nice modulation, work pretty well in the wet too. Light grind - helps with wet weather riding, and for a bit more lock. Perfect. Perfect. ← I spent a while trying to adjust avid single digit 3.0 ( 25 bucks, can't go wrong ) can't adjust the springs for shiat, its just annoying as hell. Ross_uk
Hs 33 with heatsink reds, bites like a crocodile!! ← Yup for sure,,,, Ians right !!! they do bite like a crocodile, and they also last and decent period of time aswell!!OUCH!!! <_<
andyzplace
Deore v...yes DEORE. the most simple, cost effective and no-flex brake around imo. Avid sd 5 / xtr lever and your flyin' (well stoppin'). Oh and some or my heatsinks pads would make its super grippy too.
