Waynio Posted September 11, 2005 Report Share Posted September 11, 2005 this thread will deffo get better tomorrow or tuesday when everyone gets back...... my thorts on it all were excellent first ever UCI event and it was a good crack. :( even though i 5'd bout 5 sections but it was all part of the fun, i did the speed section in 38 seconds, would have been fastest if i hadnt have had to use a dab, chris doney did it in 41 :D :P (hes looking awesum at the moment absolutly shit hot form for the young man!!!!! results were: Pro: 1st = Ben Savage 2nd = Andrei Burton 3rd = James Hyland Inter: 1st = Joe Oakley 2nd = Matt Scriven 3rd = Tomm Rigg i cant remember rookie really really sorry iv had it all on working out those 2 lots of results :( never min rookie, im sure results will be put up somewhere anyway. all in all a cracking weekend and it was ended with one of the best street rides and largest street rides going!!!! for all those who turned up and was on the street ride on saturday night could you please post your name and what bike you were riding???? just so i can remember people. thanks to everyone who organised and put the event on it was worth every mile of 800 i did this weekend!!!!! Waynio....................... o and that rail gap in fort william that we looked at that ben pointed out i shall be back for shortly!!!!! that was the beastiest line going, shame we got kicked off the roof before i had the chance to give it some (well a try) of pasty. I'm Phil King - riding a 2004 levelboss 1065 with red rims but the old(ish) black koxx stickers. The whole weekend was a raging success, i loved it all. It was so nice to have a croud of people watching and cheering you on in sections aswell... it gave me a feel of actually being (semi) important :P Definately worth the MEGGA journey, big thanks to TOM RIGG for taking me and andrew walker the 700 miles.... Everyone was cool and polite, and the standard of riding was bloody high :(. I 5'ed all of them :P I loved the man made ones... they kicked ass, section 5 espically - cleaned it twice and dabbed it ones, speed section was brilliant too... my fastest time was 1min 23sec which I was really pleased on :( Oh and Waynio... your hilarious... top bloke... met loads of new people who were really really sound :( :( Watson Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

IOLO Posted September 12, 2005 Report Share Posted September 12, 2005 iv just posted in the other topic,,,,so iv copied and pasted this,,, ...... ...... i think this was the best event i EVER have been to. !!! was good to meet up with riders i dont see that aften and should see more of,, and was brilliant to meet so many new riders that i only knew from this forum...like.. will arnold,ben(heatsink teammate) and all the scotish riders, who were really good. everyone who was on both street rides made them unbelevably GREAT! me, kyle, and ali C and a few others did an unofficial street demo on a few rails, a gap ect.... it was SOOOO good, (sat night) after that we met up with lots of others at a load of loadsing bays and i learnt vertical hooks from pedaling! and actually did a good sidehop ! lol.. as for the sections,,,, the natural river ones were soo good,, challenging yet just do-able.. i loved em..! the 2 log sections were excellent,(thanks to mick for using a gallon of fuel in a chainsaw!!!) and the speed section was one of the best ideas EVER!! i loved it,, added such a great new angle to the comp!.. unfortunatly i was playing on joe oakleys bike on sunday morning and twisted my ankle really badly,, and although i was onlt having a little mess about ive really hurt it,, and it made accelerating my car for almost 10 hours fukin painful ! thanks to all of the organisers....observers, and of course the UCI DH worldcup for having us,, i think we mave the world of XC and DH an brilliant impression of trials.... sorry to ramble of,, but it really was a good weekend.! I rode like crap for the first two laps (got 40 just for them) but my fird lap was ace, only got 2 dabs, why couldnt I have ridden like that from the beginning, I would have won :S I loved the rock sections, even though I fived pretty much all of them on my first lap <_< dont know what happened there. The man made ones were awesome, and the speed trial section was a great idea. I am pretty sure I set the fastes time on the speed course......39secs with no dabs :( I thought doney was never gonna be beaten with his time B) There was also two of the best street rides I have been on, I never knew everyone was so good :unsure: it was also nice to meet people off here, finally put names to faces. I am sure the scottish people are the nicest I have met, the amount of people who stopped and watched was unbelieveable, and the cheers and claps we got when landing a move was great. The best bit however was the drunk rich guy who handed out at least £200 in cash to riders who impressed him, I got £20 which was spent on a really nice pup meal for me, aran and waddy. Also sexy mike, phil, tom, dave and matt are all nuts, they bloody kidnapped me when I came out of a petrol station, who knows what all the people were thinking :ermm: I am at work now, so cant type too much, I am sure I might edit stuff when I get home. PS if anyone knows the full pro results, I would love to know them Also thanks to fred savage, mick scriven and barbara wright for all the work they put in helping out, also thanks to the observers. The man made sections were something i've been wanting to try in a comp for a long time! only dropped 1 dab in 3 laps of section 5 and 6, the speed section was something special! i didn't do very well in it but the idea was top notch. It was great to see new faces there, well done to all the riders who entered, it was good to see some really young lads on diamond backs giving it a go too! The bash afterwards on sec 6 was amazing akrigg was pulling out some uber bunnyhops and waynio.... <_< just :unsure: .... you know the feeling! Hope to see all you guys who went up there soon excellent weekend! (just incase you forgot, on the street ride afterwards i was on the shiny, fully functional, spotless echo control.... until ali got on it and made the bb come loose :ermm:) Also a big big thanks to all the observers, Fred Savage, Barbara Wright, Mick Scriven for all the work they put into it!
