Phatmike
http://www.eengoedidee.nl/parsefiles/?type...=mechstuff.mpeg You'll still be able to run gears this way. :ermm:
D-L-B
have you tried adjusting the screw that is attached to the back of the hanger bolt on your mech? There should be one there on most mechs. It pushes against the little fin/claw shaped bit that is on the end of the frames hanger. Failing that, take out the spring in the hanger part of the mech. The mech should just bolt in place and stay put then, you can set it any distance from the frame you like then. Shifting gears should still be ok if you're just running a single front ring and a rear road cassette. The spring is only really there to take up chain slack and allow bigger differences of gear ratios. Dan
JIX
Yeah lock it out. Like said above. For sure, do it. Its so easy and is the best solution :) Do it EDIT: Take mech off and look at the bolt. There will be a C clip thing. Get srewdriver and puch this clip off. Then you can remove the spring, then put everything else back on and srew it into the mech hanger :) Edited September 8, 2005 by JIX

PaRtZ
Answer to his other question: Some people have their shifters on the seat tube inside the front triangle. Dont ask me how its done cos i dont know and dont want to give you crap information.
