Urpedigreechumdog
Ahoy me ol' shipmates, i have a maggy with slow returning internals. It returns slow whether it is bled or just on it's own. I have taken out the internals and cleaned the inside with a dremel, but no sucess, it still returns slowish. Help please? :P
steve sturt
Please dont think Im being rude here but have you over tighteed the screw that bolts the lever to the body? Its a 5mm allen bolt that acts as a fulcrum. Hope thats all it is, if not then its something more srious.
Urpedigreechumdog
No, it's not that, i checked that a few days ago :P
Tony Harrison
Did you put oil or thin grease on the piston before putting it in the lever? Have you made sure the slave cylinders are clean? Try replacing the spring in the lever or stretching it a bit. Make sure the lever body isn't distorted or bent. Urpedigreechumdog
Grease may be the answer, i'll give it a try.... Cheers The spring is new and the slaves are clean anyhoo.
Tony Harrison
Make sure it's thin grease or lubricating oil (but not WD40!!). It will also help to seal the piston, meaning less chance of leaks.
rich4130
Is it water bled? Same happened to mine, all gunked up, just needed cleaning.
Siders77
This happened to mine once. I tryed EVERYTHING and then found that the TPA was on too tight and it sorted it out. :">
Urpedigreechumdog
I used some oil and it hasn't done the job :P Might try some grease at a later date, i'm in the middle of fixing a cracked lever with some epoxy resin atm instead lol. Bionic Balls
if it comes to it....unattach the slaves. Pull out the piston with pliers (sp?) and see how it goes back when unbled. My old maggie (~3 yrs) just seized up...no amount of lubing helped. It was water bled.... adam
Urpedigreechumdog
stuck a load of lard round the internals and then put them back in, seems to have half done the job :P
