Rennen Rollenlager

Hey I've been reading the forums for a while now as there aren't too many quality trials forums based here in southern Ontario (Canada :-). Basically I came across a discussion in the members' area about tensioners, found here: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....showtopic=61626 . After the majority of the posters came to the conclusion that running a tensioner was a better idea than not running one, and then started throwing out names of tensioners, I couldn't help but notice that the Rennen Rollenlager was not brought up. Not sure if they are just not shipped to the UK or what the reason was, but I figured I'd throw this into the conversation as a huge recommendation. You can check out the rollenlager here http://www.rennendesigngroup.com . Slightly expensive but for the money you're getting a nearly bombproof (will literally handle more abuse than you can throw at it), light, and effective tensioner.

If there is indeed a reason that the rollenlager is well-known but not popular in the trials community, please let me know!

looks very similar to the tensioner from freshproducts (james porter rides for them). EXCEPT THAT fresh products has holes within it to reduce weight i imagine....

freshproducts7ov.th.jpg

so is this a copy in design, maybe an additive to the discussion..... (Y)" :-

you don't need to see a picture of the freshproducts tensioner again...

nah the rennen came before the freshproducts one - I have one and its a good tensioner (although i didn't get on with it) - but yeah...it works in the same way as a fresh products one.

sorry mike,

i meant did freshproducts copy this rennen tensioner, any copyright infringement??

Todge, if you see this, im not having a go, just was wondering :-

both look to work well, it reinforces the dropout which is certainly a good thing, as many of todays dropouts are uber shite.

cheers

To clear things up, the one i originaly did about 19 months ago was based around the rennen design, then i posted pics on here and wa forced to make some people some (Waynio :P" ). Then it just came aout from that. Its similar in design, but I have never had one myself to look at, and its not like i use parts of them, as I make everyhting myself here.

Edit, then the DMR thingy came along, which is even pooer :D

I would like to see a close-up picture of one of those on a bike, please. To see how it works sort of. Looks pretty good to me though.

As I don't currently have a picture for you, if you follow the link that leedtrials provided for the dmr tensioner (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/?ProductID=5360013798) it works exactly the same way. Keep in mind to that it can be run above OR below the chain, depending on how much slack you need it to pick up.
