The headseat simply bolts into the startnut in the forks and holds in all of your stem, spacers, bars so yea........ pretty important!! Littleharrys Posted September 5, 2005 Report Share Posted September 5, 2005 The headset is in 2 halves basically. At the top of the head tube(the bit of your frame the forks go through) and at the bottom. It looks like 2-3 thin rings. Inside the middleone of each half is some bearings which help the forks tube spin round inside the head tube. Then the star washer or nut slides in side with a bolt on the top of your stem is tightened to stop your forks falling out the bottom of the frame wheel lift the front wheel off the ground.
