Endohopper
Afternoon , folks . I don't expect many of you run XT V brakes , but I'm hoping someone can help me here . My new XT's dont seem to fit all the way down onto the canti bosses at the fork , and at the rear brake . I thought that perhaps when I tightened the mounting bolts they'd kinda seat the brake correctly , but there's still like 5-7 mm between the base of the brake and the frame / fork 's posts . Had to use a photo of my LX V's , but you get my drift . The brakes seem to work fine , but I'm sure they're supposed to sit right the way down on their posts . Any ideas ? ( other than " dude , get some Maguras ." ) Edited September 3, 2005 by Endohopper
Bionic Balls
i think they're all like that.... :P is there any play in the arm when the bolt is tightened? if not...i shouldn't worry- i'm sure mine are the same " adam

Tomm
Does the little pin go into the hole? You know what I mean? If it's not there properly, then they're not working right and you need to fix it.
Onza Kieron
Take the thing off and get a magura dude! No, kidding, i would rather go vee but anyway, take the brake off and file around the boss to remove imperfections, BUT if it works fine with no play the leave it , as long as its tightened it shouldnt budge, unless the brake is unclipped or not together fully. Hope this helps, Kieron
Endohopper
Allright , thanks for your opinions , folks . With a bit of filing and lubing , they seem to sit nearly as they should and are offering excellent stopping power , but still squeal like a herd of constipated banshees . Gotta love T-F for exactly this kinda thing .
