pashley pro
hi im having serious problems with my brake ive tried to bleed it with braided hosing on and the first few pulls of the lever the piston travel quite far out then it just deterrites till they dont come out at all. so i think the hose is leaking. is this a common problem and can i send it back do you think? An_toin3
I'm in the same situation as you, I have the same problem :P And I Don't know what to do
RicH_87
I had this problem when i went to braided. I ended up sealing the hose at the wheel end with plastic glue. Even after it wasn't leaking it was still really sluggish and slow. Crap basically. I went back to plastic hose and it's so much better I wouldn't ever dream of trying braided again. 'Cause thats just me, plenty of peeps have managed to use it and still have a good brake. But if i you asked me for adivce, i would say stick with plastic hosing, and just adapt it so it's a bit mroe resliant to snapping, (like i have). spangler
my braided hosing leaked at the cylinder end when i pulled the lever to hard. Never again :)
Impacted.
Join the club people. Braided hosing is shit, fact. I bought some (and f**k me is it expensive aswell) it kept leaking, so when I tightened it to fooook everything was twisted to that I couldn't set the brake up. JIX
Braided hosing isnt shit at all. Some are though. What brand is yours??? Because in my eyes the only braided hosing that is any good is the magura hosing, not univex or goodridge.
Simpson
Isn't it just because the braiding its-self is wank and just expands? hope braided is supposed to be pimp.

James_Porter
isnt it all made by the same people anyways?? my goodridge is ace when i bleed it with water, but im ginger and cant be arsed to put it on.
James Quigley
Cheap braided hosing = crap mine and 3 friends all leaked/popped in the first few weeks. e.g. Unex (macdonalds straws) Decent braided hosing = The mutts nutts. e.g. goodridge or hope. But to be fair it's just not needed unless you twist your bars over 270 degrees on a regular basis, or run short hoses. Stick with the plastic stuff, it works fine. aaron_trials _247
ive used unex with the same bleed etc... for the past 1.5 years :- no problems and i snapped my stem and ripped my hosing the brading tore but the actual hose is still structally fine (Y) DAN

picki
gt85 dont work...its thinner than water and wont go up the srynge properly was quite funny to try though might have to have a blast with wd40. does any one know if you can mix maggy blood and some spray lube and it all hold together? ie not seperate? James Quigley
I thought WD40 and GT85 literally RAPED the seals in maguras. I could well be wrong though.
Tony Harrison
And don't try cooking oil either. The Unex braided hose kits had narrow diameter attachments which made the lever return slow.
