PaRtZ
OK my mate told me today about these brand new tubes that Fly bikes have made. You may need to keep an open mind for this idea Its an inner tube which is straight... like a huge sausage balloon. and if your tube blows up, you take the tyre off one side, cut the blown innertube off and post this cobra tube through the rear triangle and wrap it around your rim. Then it clips together and you can then inflate :P ...Anyway has anyone heard of them and do they have any links for information to it? Thanks
spangler
fly bikes :P check the 27th of july post on that page Cobra Tube: - The cobra tube can be used as a normal tube and is not a temporary tube. We are riding them with high pressure on our tires and they hold fine. - You can use the Cobra tube in both wheels (front and rear). - We can't tell you the exact weight of the Cobra tube yet because we are still testing some prototypes and as soon as we get with the final product we will let you know. And if you guys are still curious about it they have a similar weight like any other tube. - If you install properly the Cobra tube in your wheels you won't feel any difference from any other regular tube... Most of our team guys are riding them in a daily basis without any problem. When you pump air inside the tube it expands all over the interior of the tire/rim and fills all the empty spots along the tire making a perfect rounded wheel with no bumps or empty spots. - Here at FlyBikes we are always trying to make the best stuff as we can and also at the best prices for you guys, so we are also fighting to get a cheap tube so it can be affordable for everybody. - We would like to have them ready around December. We will let you know more news about the Cobra Tube as we have them. Edited September 3, 2005 by spangler

Someone else said about these, seem like a good idea. Might try making one out of a normal tube..

PaRtZ
Thanks! i didin't see it on the fly bikes site, but now i can Scroll down on the main section till you see the picture of a cobra "This may sound crazy for most of you but we've designed a tube that can be replaced without taking off"
fairy elephants
halfords have done them for years :P ( as in its nothing new ) ← That they have, but i don't think they "clip" together at the ends like the fly tubes, so people often found there was an empty spot in the tire... butcha87
Also, Fly bikes tubes can actually withstand BMX unlike Halfords tubes which (I am assuming, I have no real evidence) would not hold up in a BMX.
fairy elephants
Also, Fly bikes tubes can actually withstand BMX unlike Halfords tubes which (I am assuming, I have no real evidence) would not hold up in a BMX. ← I'm running a halfords tube in the rear of my trials bike with no problems, so i see no reason as to why it should not hold up to bmx. They have strong tires, and high presure, it should all be good. (Y)
