scott-mad
hi there, i had maxxis tyres a while ago and want to go back to them but before the orange stripes on them went nice with my bike now they would just look gash. are they available without them as i have seen on some bikes or is it just chance on weather you get the orang stripes around them? thanks (Y)
Ali C
the softer compunds are just plain black, as they cant use the same compound and still have the stripe apparently
scott-mad
shit sorry wrong part of trials forum (Y) anyone else?
shovel
as ali c said above, the maxxpro 60a (harder compound tyres) have an orange line round the sidewall of the tyre whereas the supertacky (soft compound) and the slow reezay (uber soft compound) don't have the orange line round them especially for trials, you should be using either supertacky or slow reezay tyres for maximum grip anyway
scott-mad
well i ride alot of strret and hardly any natural and ride fair distances sometimes in order to ride so would you suggest just the super tacky on the rear instead of the slow reazay? shovel
supertacky would be perfect, i ride some natural but mostly street and have to travel alot and my high roller 2.5 supertacky has been great

scott-mad
right thats great thanks. i found high rollers on bikedock for 15 quid (Y) and no marker pen does not work because it would go that dodgy shitty colour within 10 seconds lol
Clownbike
You may want the double wall one for the rear, a lil heavy but nice and strong, nicer for street Unless you already know this, its just you said £15 and i paid £30 (Y) Neil
aust
as ali c said above, the maxxpro 60a (harder compound tyres) have an orange line round the sidewall of the tyre whereas the supertacky (soft compound) and the slow reezay (uber soft compound) don't have the orange line round them especially for trials, you should be using either supertacky or slow reezay tyres for maximum grip anyway ← no they dont.. i had a hansventure maxxis in 60A and it was just plain black.... its the oem maxxis that have orange stripes around them (Y)... the normal maxxis are just black :D
Waynio
:D in the shop we have some of the stuff bought from the UK importer and their tyres have an orange line round and are the 60a compound, i think aust im not 100% though the orange lined stuff is RRP stuff??? its sold in the packaging and stuff. the black stuff in 60a is specced on bikes from taiwan or is a massly produced tyre that sometimes can be "Black" imported. we have noticed this on for example suspension forks, such as marzocchi's you can see which have come from taiwan and which have come from italy. but i think that how it is you probably meant that in the first place though (Y) :o i have noticed it with some of the tyres that come on the bikes and then the tyres we get in stock from MMA (which are uk distributor of maxxis they took over from raleigh altho raleigh still do a little bit) Waynio.......................
