SQuiT-man
Hi, can any of you reccomend me a helmet that is under my £55 budget (a £20 piss pot would be fine aslong as it meets the criteria) that will fit my large head WITHOUT looking ridiculous? Ive got a Giro Xen at the moment, its a £100 helmet but I have hardly ever used it as it really does look ridiculous on me for some reason, because of the higher-profile build on it. Ideally I would prefer a streety-ish styled helmet, like a piss-pot or semi-MX. Are there any low-profile piss-pots out there in large that are comfy enough? What about KOXX helmets..? Thanks for any help, Regards, Scott

trialsguru
you can adjust the xen to fit lower on your head, theres some straps at the back, maybe you know already but its an idea
Mark W
Protecs aren't like Protecs used to be. Previously, they just had a foam lining, but they altered the helmet safety rules and they were outlawed for not having the polystyrene inner bit. Therefore, the new ones do, so they're a bit more sticky-outy. Capix skate helmets, such as the Opener, don't have this. They're pretty good, used by Danny "I jumped the great wall of china and did loads of rad shit" Way amongst others.

Which ones do you mean? I suppose thats the problem really, I want a halemt that fits lower on my head, the xen, although being my head size, just seems to sit ontop my head and not come down the sides, despite the top of my head being firmly in contact with the polystyrene inside (e.g. it cant be pulled down any more) So are the capix helmets lower profile, and will they sit down over my head lower? Mark W
Should do :) Well, theoretically. Basically, the shell will be smaller because it's just got foam and not foam + some polystyrene, so it *should* look smaller for the same head-size... if you get me? Mark W
theres some straps that run above the head circumfence ones and they adjust how high or low the helmet will sit ← They never seemed to affect my Xen that much, just felt like there was more "cuppage" around the two bumpy bits on the back of your skull. Pretty much all I used 'em for anyway :)
