stupot
does anyone know which is the lightest v-brake set up that i can put on the front of my bike i was thinking xtr or avids but do not know any weights thanks
N.Wood
Have a look on Weightweenie.com for weights. You won't go far wrong with an Avid Ultimate, or a Shimano XTR. Sram V's are very light, but flexy. Try the SL9.0 if you do go Sram. I'd stick with Shimano and Avid though. The weight difference between the 2 will be negligable. Endohopper
Shimano's Deore V-Brake is pretty darned light , and does away with the uneccesaralily heavy parralel push linkage of LX and XTs .
mackey
go for a XTR it is shimanos top range so it cant be to heavy

Simpson
I wouldn't worry too much about weight, ian 50g is probably half of your new bike! (jokes) just look for the best brake an look to shed weight some where, were a bigger majority of weight loss could be found, eg. cranks, forks, frame if you get me
stupot
can you still get avids in magnesium or is it titanium as i guess they would be the best ones to get
Da-bomb-boi
ive always found tecktro to be more than sufficient(sp). um try xtr and avid or if you want to go for the bmx look you could always take the front brake of (i learnt the hard way DO NOT DO THIS! :P :"> ) but to be honest for the amount of weight you would be saving isnt it just easyer to take your shirt of on a hot day or something? sorry but im just not a big fan of all this minor weight saving non-sense as ive seen it in every other type of riding.
