Swize
Now its started to get dark early i'm going to invest in a pair of light. i'm looking for a nice cheep pair, what would be ideal would be a little LED or something that clipped on the the bars. I have no clue about where i can get them; Anyone?!? Also if so what do you use and would reccomend? N.Wood
I have some little LED ones that are uber-small and have a small elastic strap to keep them onto the bars/frame. I can't remember the name, but it's something like 'Back Upz' and they're available from Stif i think. They're not strictly road legal i don't think, (as the name suggests they're more for back up) however it's ALOT better than nothing, they have 3 modes - Fully on, slow flashing and fast flashing. Battery life comes from one of those small watch/hearing aid batterys and they last a fair while, especially when on the fast flash mode. Their main advantage is that they're so small and light (ha!) and can be removed and put in your pocket if you're at your riding spot. JT!
Front Rear If your running a frame without a seat, is there anywhere you can put the rear one? Edited September 1, 2005 by JT!
TomN
Front Rear If your running a frame without a seat, is there anywhere you can put the rear one? ← Jam the light in ye rear spokes tightly. >_<

Mark W
I just got some basic ones. Triple LED, triple feature front in a rinky dink little pod thing. Had a QR bit on the clip for the bars so you could take it off super easy. The rear was fairly slender (again just a triple LED one I think) and it was as thin as my seat-stay on my T-Pro so that's where it went. Drive side, 'cos that way it's visible, plus I'm right foot forward so it meant it was safer :)

haydon_peter
I have this beast for a back light! I bought one of these years ago from my LBS and its still going strong! You can put it on a frame mount but I litterally just clip it onto my arse and ride! (I clip it onto the roadside back pocket of my trousers/shorts and it hasnt fallen off *yet*! One time I also clipped it onto my camelbak and did some late night country roadying!) Its really bright considering there is only 1 LED and on mine there are 3 modes, slow flash/fast flash/constant. It takes 2 AAA batteries and the battery life goes on and on and on...If your running a frame without a seat, is there anywhere you can put the rear one? ← I always find that using the above light and clipping it on my arse worked a treat!!! :)" I rarely bother with a front light. The main reason I dont use a front light is because nice front lights rinse through batteries stupidly quick! I am also more worried about the cars on my side of the road seeing me! (obviously they will be coming from behind me). I only ever use a front light if I go out for a proper night ride, sadly I havent done a night treck for well over a year now. If I do use a front light its a some Cateye Halogen thing that rinses through 4 AA batteries within just a few hours!
Dan6061
Wack a powerful torch on your bars :)
Endohopper
Funky flashing dustcaps are where it's at . Except they're not visible from the rear especially with wide rims and add tonnes of rotating mass . Apart from that , they're where it's at . Actually , don't bother .
