weewillywinky
hi there, i have an oldish monty x-lite and the freewheel that came with it keeps skipping. i have seen that alot of people use acs claws for trials and was thinking of one of these. is this a wise option? also i have a 12 tooth sprocket on the rear so would 16t or 18t be better on the front as a freewheel? thanks in advance for replys :) Edited August 31, 2005 by weewillywinky
Dan6061
if it keeps skipping, either you or someone who has dine it before take it apart, and clean it all up, Then rebuild it. If it still skips after that, get an ACS Claw :)

Lawnmowerman
18T on the front is what you need. If you can afford it get an eno trial freewheel. Theyre fully sealed, well made and have 72 engagements. Here They're quite expensive but they're well worth it :)

Mine went along time ago. :D (sorry) (Y)
Martin
Yeah. Get an ENO free wheel. It is meant to be the same engagement as a king hub. (Y) :)

fat-jake
yes. ono freewheels are great if you have the money, i beleive there about £80.00, the ACS claw is a good freewheel too so take your pick if you have the money the ENO is the one to have.... mackey
if you can try and save up for an ENO 18 tooth freewheel and get it from tarty bikes and if not get an ACS 18 tooth but you may find you will blown it up you can also purchase them from Tartybikes but i think you should try your hardest and save up for a ENO :) good luck

JT!
Just get an ACS clause, get a welded up one from selectbikes, then it'll last forever and you wont need to faff locktiting it. :)
Josephine
ACS 18t is definitely what you're after, I can't honestly justify an Eno to myself (I did try when I had some money :) ), certainly for street the ACS is bloody fantastic, lock the threads up (easy as pie) or buy a welded one from selectbikes. Do make sure you lock it up though, even if you're commited to tightening it every 5 minutes one time you'll forget and do it irreparable damage...
