RicH_87
yeh should be 3-5 if it's not done by saturday i would ring and complain, or even better write a letter. the less paperwork the better for a bank so they'll give you what you want. sfboy
I'm with natwest and they are usually quite good and make the money available after 3 days.

Haz
They say 3-5 days, but apparently Natwest are one of the fastest banks for this and manage it in 3 days. ;))
Drew
I paid a HSBC cheque into my HSBC account once and it cleared the same day. That's pretty fast ;) Usually more like 3-5 working days so Saturday, Sunday or Monday (Bank Holiday) won't count. You're looking at tomorrow at the earliest. I heard somewhere that they can get the money straight away, and they invest it (along with the rest of the day's cheques) on the stock market or similar and earn a tidy profit for the two days before they give it back to you (without the profit). Dunno if that's true though :P
Royaltrials
It depends on what bank the cheque is drawn from also. It understandably takes longer for inter-bank exchanges. If you receive a cheque that matches the bank you use they tend to come through pretty quick.
