RicH_87
never ever had any problems with Windows, if it was shite i wouldn't use it, but it's quick, reliable, compatable with everything i need, regularly updated, safe and easy to use. I can never understand why some people hate windows so much, cracking their nerdy jokes about crashing and stuff, windows is a great OS, if it wasn't it wouldn't be running over half of the worlds computer. The only way i would get a different OS is if the majority used it, and i needed it in order to do what i wanted to do. In the mean time i'll stick with what i know works. Macs are supposed to be more efficient but when it comes to games and software it's often overprice and under-sold.

alexnessie
Just to clear this up, Microsoft and Mac are not OS's. Microsoft make the OS called Windows (3.11/95/98/ME/NT4/2000/XP) Apple make Mac computers, and the OS of choice is Tiger OSX justnow (I may be wrong, I'm a Microsoft geek, not Apple) I use Windows XP on my gaming rig and a Dual-Boot of 98SE and 2000 on the older machine. /End geek-mode. Tomm
Rumour has it that Apple have always developed x86 (I.e. PC) operating systems alongside the OS for PowerPC architecture, so there would be a PC version somewhere buried deep in Apple's underground lair. It's just never been leaked. However, Macs are going to start using Intel processors, so they'll have to use this code anyway now. And I suppose if that's gonna be released it'll find it's way onto a PC near you soon B) I don't really see why they're doing that though - The whole point of Apples is that you get the hardware and the software - the whole package is inseparable so there's no competition. As soon as they release Tiger for x86, people can buy PCs and run it and save £££!
Henrat
I use a Dual G5 with Tiger. I produce a lot of bands and in the audio world, now that Logic (audio production software) has gone purely to Apple, I think Macs are the way forward. For me its all about the whole package that you get with them. So many people build PCs now that there are so many compatability issues with hardware etc... when you buy a Mac you know that whatever pro software you buy will run on it. At least in my case! I also don't think that just because OSX will run on PCs that people will start to use that instead of windows.... Everyone I know who has an Apple has one because of the whole deal, hardware and software. Its the design and elegance of it all too. Yes they are a tad overpriced, but you can get quite a bit of money off if you buy through the Apple Education Store (even more through Higher Education!) But you are right about them sucking for games.... B) I just wish Microsoft would get their ass in gear and make a new version of MSN for OSX that can do webcam! Henry. Danny
Apple will never release OSX for pc officially because if they did it would make all there hardware virtually obsolete as everyone would buy cheaper hardware from other manufacturers. I want a PC with Media Center, it's awesome.
Dai the Socket
Btw just to clear up, a mother board in a Mac is a Logic board and can 'blow up' from being hit and bumped  I've got a 20" Flat screen, Apple G5 now on Tiger. I love it, it's my pride and joy. I use Photoshop, Dreamweaver, MSN, Net and Itunes etc on it. It's the Server in my house's LAN. I've also got a PC Laptop, which f**ked up and decided to erase it's self. I threw it in a draw though (Y) And my mum's got a Midget 12" G4 Powerbook for her work at College and Home. I use the Mac most. Everything's uber good on it except MSN. It doesn't crash and it's pretty quick however It did go through a slow phase a week ago but within a restart it was k again :D I don't think I'll ever use a PC as my main computer. I've been scared for life by some Shit ass Laptop :P
Danny
But in all fairness all laptops suck. Even the 3.0Ghz ones are slow due the the crappy 5400rpm hard drives.
