Michael Hardman
Ok so Ive got the crank arms and axle off and Im left with the bearings, bb cups and that spacer that goes inside. How the hell do I get it all out Ive been told to knock the spacer inside out of place so I can get something in to hit the cups out with but the spacer wont budge. I want to fit my new cranks its so unfair.
Lawnmowerman
screwdriver and a hammer. WHACK WHACK WHACK!
Michael Hardman
Yes but how, the spacer tube inbetween the two bb cups needs moving out the way but it qont move. The thing is the cupos came out your old frame easily and went into this one nicely so they should come out
Lawnmowerman
Hmmm, shove the screwdriver in the hole and pry it sideways. Then put it in the rest of the way and whack the bearing race from the inside. Did you grease them before you put em in?
Michael Hardman
Yep all greased, the spacer has moved a tiny bit but it wont go anymore and its not enough to get a screwdriver in. Last resort would be to saw the thing out with hacksaw as Ive got new cranks for it.
Lawnmowerman
Just give it some serious pasty, you wont be using them again so it wont matter (Y)" The paint has probably stuck the bearings in
Michael Hardman
No I covered the bb shell up when I painted it, no paint inside, and I sanded it down afterwards anyway.
