Chicky
Okay so my stock should be delivered this tuesday and i cant wait to get out and ride. But i have a question, to pass the time so to say. I was wondering what the main differences are when moving from mod to stock? Do tricks go bigger? smaller? I would imagine you have slightly better balance? Will it be easier to pedal kick, or become much harder? Replies are much apreciated, cheers. JT!
It's much harder going from mod to stock. Gapping to things should be slightly easier as you have bigger wheels so you have more chance of landing a gap. Stocks (after riding a mod) feel really big and unmanoverable. Good luck. Trials Boy
Its just a matter of getting used to the stock really, once you get used to a Mod and you like it, you should stick with it, and the same from stock to mod. I used to ride a mod but changed back to stock as i prefered stock, i did like mod but prefered stock. Just get used to it in the first month and you'll love it, might be a bit hard for the first week or so. Dont worry your find it just right (Y)

the_ferret
GOOD BOY i did the same due to dead t-pro main differences: achey arms where it will possibly be heavier feels more comfy (imo) cant throw it about like a little mod oggy Edited August 22, 2005 by the_ferret
Bobby Fox
I agree with JT that stocks are harder to chuck around compaired to a mod, meening that moves which you mastered on your mod will seem much harder when tried on a stock. However i feel that riding stocks feels much more satisfiying to ride, and perform moves due to that little extra difficulty. hope you like! Tom Rigg
you will enjoy it, it will take time and practice, alot of time and practice, but get used to taping, it is the key to high backwheels on a stock, also watch sidehops to your right hand side, (mech hanger (Y)). good luck and stick with it. PaRtZ
Tried a stock for 30 seconds. Couldn't back wheel it lol I couldn't do it as I'd miss maneuvoability (Y) But the as JT said rail gaps are looking promising for you :)
MadManMike
It's personal preference, I personally hate mods and everything about them, but it's whatever feels good for you.
Chicky
Ahh, so i've finally got my stock up and fully working. Had a sh't load of problems with the rear mech so i decided to run single speed. Bloody love it  i feel so much more controlled riding stock and its just a much nicer ride. I must say though, i've only had a total of about 30 minutes on the best but i've kinda got used to the leverage on the frame and can do about 3 pedal kicks. So all in all i'm really happy i went stock. My bike is a little more streety than most 26" but its perfect for me. Will update again once i get a bit more used to the geom. cheers.
